Title: Let's open the Business Area to the world...
Post by: DarthNuno on April 13, 2015, 11:28:27 AM
Well, it seems that this board is one of the last one who still keeps this business area 'hidden' for non members ...
Let's open this to the world and give our adds a better visibility!
For the 'mostly buyers' perspective, I can understand that some of you would prefer to let this section private, in order to benefit the best bargains, but from the sellers point of view, their first purpose is to ...sell their items.
I have no worry about this, because I'm sure the regular members here will always have a better preferential treatment than a total stranger.
Let's give a try!  :)

Huge mistake from my point of view.
You will have hundreds of new profiles created only to post a sale or buy topic.

If a seller wants to have more views, he can post his sale on local forums, eBay, local classifields websites.....  There are tens of possibilities.

A compromise would be to have access of this section after 3 months or 20 posts.

I post here some information because for me the DLF community is much more interesting than others: I did not share the warehouse raid topic in France and posted only few words about containers.
I am sure that this valuatble community is due to the reasonable use of the business section.

I'm totally with Valentin here. Of course you're in control of DLF, and it's totally up to you, but from my point of view, don't do it!

Yeah, I'm not fond of this too. DLF is special on many points. High expertise, more 'private' feeling, it's held by a special collector guy that has some unique games, it's more like the official european forum to me, the european Klov in some way. It's a forum of specialists, it feels like 'home' and we don't want everybody to come in that home. ;D
Don't become like the other forums.

May be it's not a big deal and we exagerate. ;D

100% agreed with Valentin......but I've aired my opinion about this plenty of times....

I wouldn't do that if I were you

There are better places to put your sales if you want a bigger audience

Edited by Nuno : moved from this topic (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=6561.0)

Gotta love first time posters who only respond to buy something......sorry but I don't.

Happened on the Xevious thread too...as a seller I would be very very cautious....these people have built up zero reputation. Not saying they are all not trustworthy but......just be careful and I hope the sale will be succesfull.

However I still think a post minimum like many other forums have would be great for the buy/sell section.

Force,I tried clicking on the photobucket links of the pics but they lead to a dead photobucket page....

Well, this board is one of the very last one who still keeps this business area 'hidden' for non members (check all the uk board for instance)...
Adding a minimum post won't really help (or this should be very high number) I'm afraid, you'll have plenty of 'I like this', or 'my favorite game is' or 'I'm x years old' topics in no time for the newcomer wanting to reach the limit.
In that case, Marcello is registered since more than 4 years...yeah, no messages but sometime lurkers can become really active... Anyway in the 'seller perspective', this wouldn't change too much, even if -of course- it's still better to know the games we are selling are going to the right hands  ;)

Better not to do for my opinion.
