Title: Want to buy: cassette player
Post by: Luigi on March 23, 2015, 12:29:22 PM
I'm looking for one of those flat cassette players for my Journey, like the one in the picture. If you have ony lying around and want to sell...please PM :)

Of course it doesn't have to be the same brand or type. It should be in good working condition and have a 6V inlet and a headphone outlet

F U C K ! ! !

I made literally the "clearing of the Century" the last 3 days to make space in our family´s house.
We own that house since 70 years and I came across a player exactly like this and decided to let it go to the dumpster as we wanted to get empty.

I am so sorry.... :-\

I guess they are too young, right?

It's no matter of age, but it needs to have a connector for 6V (as a replacement for the 4 batteries those players used to need) because the player is controlled with this voltage from the sound PCB.

The right one doesn't look bad :)

I can even get new ones on marktplaats but  sellers never indicate if there is an external power connector. Others come with power adapter included !

Also shouldn't be too hard to mod a connector instead of the batteries.

Shall I contact the seller for you?  :)

Got this one in a flea market... it was untested... I tried it, but no luck... :-\
This could be a very easy fix, but didn't check what's wrong with it. It yours if you want it  ;)

Not.

They used "endless" tapes.

Bruno, you didn't buy that one only for me, did you?

If yes, we will settle it off with the credit brackets :)

@syn9: like Level42 says, it's a 3min endless tape. Just wait a few days...I will go to a local flee market tomorrow and see if they have something that matches my needs. If they have nothing you can ask if the right one has a 6V inlet.

Thanks for all your help, guys. I'm confident that Journey will soon be running with a tape player :)

Nope, I got it two years ago. My plan was to use it with ...my ZX81  ;)
But as I said, this tape player is non working. Tried to powered it with batteries, 220V or over the 6V... but no sign of life at all  :-\ I've never tried to repair it.... easy fix maybe?
