Title: Finally, a brand new bright and deep color LCD for the Atari Lynx
Post by: level42 on March 18, 2015, 12:29:50 AM
The Atari Lynx made the B/W unlit Gameboy look like it was: a child's toy when it was released.

However, for today's standards the color LCD has become completely outdated and to be honest, it is this which made me loose interest in the lovely cat....

The games are often good to excellent and its a shame that the display spoild the fun today.

But now....after several other people not finishing it, this German guy has done it:

A brand new bright LCD with deep colors for the Lynx......and as a little extra, it also provides a VGA out so you can hook it up to any modern monitor or TV !

Argghhh, another thing to spend money on......

Oh and not only does it look waaaaaaay better, it also uses much less energy and thus longer battery life :)

Chips Challenge is one of the best games, not just on the Lynx but ever.
Those who played the PC version are missing out though, the Lynx version plays 10 times better. There's an emulator for Mac and PC that also plays the Lynx version though...
