Hi,
Don't see these pop-up often, but do any of you have one for sale maybe?
Second option, build a replica. Since my friend (not yet on DLF) won't mind having a replica.
Cheers,
Barry

Just spotted on a UKVAC thread that a guy is going to be selling a Smash TV cab very soon.

Hope this helps, thanks.

Thanks for the heads up! :)
Will contact contact the seller.
-
No problem! I need to collect a cab from Thwocker at some point, so potentially I could bring the Smash TV with me (if you're on the way)? Just a thought, TBH I'm not sure exactly when it'll be though...
-
That is a really generous offer, will keep it in mind, thanks! :)
The seller said already three people showed interest in it. He is asking 600 pounds but he wants offers.
-
Wow seems a bit steep to me, I bought one of these years ago for just £50 - starting to wish I'd never sold it! Everything seems to be going up in value now...
-
A lot of money for sure, but this one is house-use only according the seller. Never been in an arcade, only his private collection.
But 50 pounds is a bargain, lucky chap! :)
-
Ha it would seem so, but I'm sure at the time I bought it that's about what they sold for (in average condition anyway). I'm pretty sure I remember selling it on for £75 including delivery!

Had never heard of this game until I got into the hobby. Played it in the UK and it's a lot of fun IMHO.

Of course its fun, its a Robotron clone... ;)
-
I remember this game from it's 16-bit console release on Sega Megadrive and Super Nintendo.
Never played it much though.
The cabinet the guy on UKVAC is selling is the model with the 25" monitor.
A huge beast of a cabinet like the Midway ones in the nineties, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, Nintendo's Killer Instinct etc..
I like the smaller more rare 19" monitor model way better.
The idea of building one myself is growing on me. I really like the artwork, and it's available at thisoldgame :)
Been looking for cabinet plans and drawings all day but can't find anything.

I totally agree !
Indeed Robotron "follow up" Muerto, it rocks :)
-
There's an empty 25" shell at the arcade cemetery in Worms, Germany lying around (no marquee, no control panel, no pcb, no monitor). I think it's nonetheless a waaaay better base than to build one from the scratch. If you're interested please drop me a line and I'll give you the adress. :)
-
Thanks for the offer!
I don't like stealing, but I guess you can PM me the address just in case :)
Sad to see all those cabinets like that man.
So many useful parts left there.
How is it over there these days? Lot's of people coming and going with trailers and vans?
-
It really isn't a matter of stealing anything, the cabs will just rot there or get destroyed by teenagers, nobody cares about them. I have no real clue what's going on there, awaiting a baby here and therefore don't have time to drive over there (also I already have a Smash TV ;) ).
I've sent you a pm, sir. :)
-
Oh thanks, just replied your PM :)
Worms is a 4,5 hour drive from my place.
-
If you want a Smash TV, I'd defenitely go there. I've waited more than 10 years and finally ended up buying one from the USA. They may not be really rare, but if nobody sells one (because it's almost as awesome as Robotron! ;D) it makes no difference.
-
I will discuss it with my friend, although he is pretty optimistic about it :)

Nice on both sides (having a real baby or just another arcade machine) :)
Congrats my friend!
