Title: wanted : 'credit button' assy' ?
Post by: DarthNuno on February 24, 2015, 10:48:44 PM
Well, can't remember where did you get all these ingenious 'credit button' assembly to fix on coin door, seen at the Eurocade meetings
Where to buy them?

Tyrem needs about 20 of these too.....better than fiddling in the coin doors Stefan ;)

IMHO this is the best option for games without free play. No damage to the coin door yet it's a firm and reliable and easy to use fix. My Berzerk still has it :)

It's a very ingenious design, much like a paper clip: out of one piece, simple to install and use.....not sure if Thorsten designed it but he should patent it ;)

and I think they look nice as well :spaceace:

Oh my goodness. I just sold the last ones to someone and thought that there was no more demand, but..... :)

OK, please throw in some numbers so I have a clue how many are needed.

It may take a while but I can make new ones.

And yes, it is my design. I have made a few different samples and kept the best working design....while I'm open for improvements :)

I hope the weak Euro doesn't make them more expensive  :-\

nope, we don´t need them in my basement since the plan is that we will put all the games on freeplay. every game in my arcade will get a savekit with freeplay, attract and upload.
in the meantime we have to coin them the old way. :)

Put me down for another 20. I made a few into crocodile temporary ones for the show and they were a big hit for those games that turned up without credit buttons.
Thanks,
Paul.

Sir, this will ruin my business!! ;) ;D

122  :o

I will order 150 pieces (cut the right size), then drill and bend them.

They will be made of 1mm stainless steel, as usual.

Awesome work, incredible talent!!  :spaceace:

Totally love them....I suck mostly as a player but I discovered I was playing MB (while I have this at home) just to beat the High score on Stefan's cab :):):)

Maybe stupid but it does show how much fun a bit of competition adds :):)

Wasn't pleased with my Popeye performance though....check those settings, they seemed to be too hard ;)

they are too hard for sure. :)
our savekit for popeye will fix this problem anyway. I want DK Jr. and Popeye to be next. And Mario Bros. of course.

Not too late, yet. I have just ordered the 150 metal pieces ;)

This might take a while, then I will drill and bend them.

I will drill a hole of 7,5mm for a switch like the one Bruno posted. If you don't want that (because you want to install a different switch) please let me know!!

I also need info who wants a complete bracket incl. switch and cable (4€) or the bracket only (3€).

AND...if you want them with switches....what colour you prefer  ::)

Man, don't make this too hard for yourself and think like Henry Ford: you can get any color as long as it's black.....;);)

lol :D

No problem, I have to order the switches anyway and if someone wants a specific colour I can order them.

btw....you might want to reconsider the number of brackets due to the price. The price for stainless steel is risen again...thanks to the weak euro  :-\

Still waiting for the bare metal stripes....this is driving me mad

Called yesterday just to hear they finished them Monday

Production has started :)

Drilled and bent the first 12. I only can do them in small amounts. It's a very busy workshop and I have to wait until they stopped working ~16:30.

I will leave the plastic layer on them this time because last time some of the brackets got nasty scratches. This means you will have to apply the sticker and install the switch yourself...I'm very confident you will be able to do this ;)

Pics from the 'making of'

(more to come)

more pics....

2) pre-drilling 4mm
3) final drilling 7.2mm
4) deburring (is this the correct word?) the hole
5) 50 metal pieces after drilling and cleaning waiting for the bending machine
6) some more waiting  ::)

Title: Re: wanted : 'credit button' assy' ?
Post by: Luigi on March 26, 2015, 10:15:24 AM
more pics from the bending process....

7) first bending: the part that slips into the coindoor. Two steps: bend as far as possible, then take it out and press it with the machine
8 ) don't press too hard, leave a slot
9) bend here to limit the part straight away from the coindoor
10) this bending limits the part where the switch is installed
11) going downwards and straight back to the coindoor
12) tadaaa
13) pile o'brackets keeps growing :)

200 switches arrived yesterday....now I have to cut the wires and solder them to the switches  ::)

I found out that the brackets have sopme 'dirt' along the edges if you peel the protection layer. I think it's molded foilage or glue from the laser cutting. The former pieces had been cut the old-fashioned way, there was no dirt.

You can simply rub it away or use some window cleaner.

FYI :)

This is unacceptable!!

People complain about everything. Once a guy from UK complained about some remains of polishing stuff on a hollow joystick shaft...all he had to do is use a soft tissue to remove it and it shines like a mirror  ::)  So better tell the people in advance that there MIGHT be some dirt from the laser cutting ;)

OK, all the brackets have been sent (last 4 'letters' left on Saturday).

Hope you guys will be happy with them :)

If there's a problem, let me know.

Oh, one word about the switches....it's hard to get them in decent quality these days and I had some of those switches not working.
If it happens that you cannot get credits after installing the bracket and the switch, don't forget to check if the switch works!! ;)
Let me know if you have any non-workers and I will send replacement :)
