Title: Craigslist, eBay.com and other US
Post by: valentin27 on January 13, 2015, 09:24:57 PM
We do not have any dedicated topic for the interesting cabs published on US website.
Hope this one will help.

I start with COW, Lloyd told me there is hundreds of cabs coming in the next few days.
No list. Look at their facebook.

Saw the increased number of cool cabs. missed a dk3... kicked my butt.

one thing is really important though.... do you have a price for us for the shipping from coinop to the storage in france?
this would help a lot to calculate the costs for me.

Hi guys,

Haven't participated in the Valentin containers before.
But if I see a cabinet at COW's FaceBook I that l would love to have, can I just buy it and arrange shipping through a Valentin container like you guys do lately?

Thanks :)

In fact i'm asking myself a lot of questions with the containers and how it works. Valentin would you mind doing a little post with explanations on how it works?

About the container, the 2 basic rules are :
1. You buy and arrange the delivery to COW yourself
2. Container departs when full (even if it is 10 months later)

As for the cost of shipping. I tried to be as close as possible to what I used to pay with Thomas (meaning 300euro per cab).
Container will be there beginning of February, so soon I will have the final cost per cab but the target is pretty achieved (I encountered few problem such as going via Antwerp or the exchange rate increasing a bit).

What is pretty sure is that next container will be more expensive than this one because of the EUR/USD exchange rate.
Most of services are paid in USD. VAT at arrival depends on the value of the goods in euro, so stronger is the USD, stronger is the VAT  :(

.....VAT at arrival depends on the value of the goods .....

How do you, or customs establish the value of the goods? And based on actual individual item purchase price (I suppose that item purchase prices will vary a lot between buyers)?

just checked the ebay auction. the machine was sold on the 22. of december. in the text the seller qouted that he wanted to concentrate on pins. the seller on klov is a member of a pinball forum. sounds a bit strange if you ask me.

Maybe it is not sold, just publishing it for us to shut up.
We will see if it appears again.

i doubt it was sold, too.
to me it is not even a movie prop since the actual item was not in the movie. it was more of a cinema display thing. nice idea.... but for me as an arcade collector not interesting at all. i would be able to buy so many real iconic games with that amount of money. :)

I was offered some cabs, here is a copy / paste :

- Final Lap 2 (complete, works, needs right flyback which is on the way.. if you guys buy this and it arrives in advance I would of course install it) and left shifter plate screwed back on - shifter is fine) - $500

- Ice Cold Beer - $1100

- Super Pac - $600

- Kung Fu Master - $500 might need a cap kit as it has a little curling at the bottom but could also just be pot adjustment just haven't had time to mess with it yet. Does have some screen burn (Player 1, Credits: 0).. Putting this one lower because of the burn. Applying tint to the back would likely cover it. I can also see if I have a spare 19" monitor I could put in it for a little more but I think I only have spare 25s and 19s that also have burn

- DKJr - $850 - Needs side art and t-molding (typical Nintendo break points) but has a brand-new (NOS) monitor in it.

- Afterburner II - $400 - works great, looks great, shaker motor and everything are a-ok. We just refurbed this one and have been playing it a lot émoticône smile. Screen does have light "Afterburner II" burn but it is barely noticeable while playing

- Die Hard - $250 - Plastic on one side is a little 'popped' and needs to be unscrewed and squeezed back in. Needs a new cart (cheap on eBay). It's ST-V so you can put whatever ST-V game you want in there like the ST-V multicart

- Mace - $250 - in a Virtua Fighter 2 cab - everything works but it needs a cap it due to some screen curling. Interesting thing here is Lloyd just posted an empty Mace cabinet for $225. Put the two together and you have the full machine as I have all the "insides" - it would need a little CP work and a new CPO but those should be easy

- Neo Geo with the 161-1 cart in it (officially a 2 slot cab but it has a 1 slot board in it).. cab is solid although a little rough on the bottom of the sides which some genius painted black. Screen looks great though, CP is great and it plays perfectly - thinking $350 with the cart or $250 without. I also have a 2-slot board that I could part with (it has a video rom issue which is why I pulled it and put in the 1 slot since I was putting the 161-1 cart in anyway).

Seller is not very far from COW and can deliver everything at once to share the cost.
