Title: Hardware: Scanner used for side arts

I'm gled if someone can tell me same productor and model about the particular Scanner used for capture the image on the side of cab, and glass to

In particular I'd like to know the one used by Paul Sawan..it have a great depth of field...and quality too..

I am very satisfied with HP scanjet 4670

pay attention that the 4670 is a vectorization scanner only , because of the "banding" plaguing all the scans

Indeed - you can clearly see the banding on the edges of my scans above. Not a problem if you are vectoring or tracing but no good for print ready artwork.

Odd, as I don't seem to get the banding on my unit...  :?

I experience it only on bezel / marquee scanning, sidearts don't seen to have that issue, so i guess its the scanning through glass as the print is on the back of the glass..

Also it makes the scan blurry due to the extra distance through the glass to the actual art.

Also seen on Muddy's scans, its the surrounding, not the actual art he scanned, so that must be distance related

funny side note, i just see that the grider segments are also different some time..
never seen that detail before  :D

Paul told me that usually use a Xerox WorkCentre 7800 Series... in same file, looking in "Propieties-->Detalis" it's possible to find this information about the machine used for scan.
