Hi everybody.
Anybody knows if there exists a list with cab sizes? ???
-
I always check on arcade flyers for each of my cabs but I don't know if a "full" list exists.
Would be really useful when reorganising a game room for instance or transporting cabs.

Not all flyers contain the cab sizes, for some I have to look inside the manual.
I also visited Jakobud's cab plans but the size is always in inches and there are too many clicks to do until you see the measurements ;)
Reorganising the game room.....that's exactly the reason why I'm looking for such a list. Of course, we can (and Dirk did) measure the cabs we have but I think about making such a list :)
-
Let's do it here!
I can measure my collection this weekend... but if size matters, we all know that Bruno won this contest ;)
-
Are the sketchup models from Gozer not scaled ? i think they are..
-
Ambitious but very cool project. Count me in. :)
-
Nice!
63 checks in about 5 hours for this topic, I think some people find this topic interesting/useful.

They are to scale, inches that is...
-
Inches are so 1924.
-
And weight :P
-
Great, more people jumping on the train :)
Dirk already measured (most of) our cabs so I will start a list.
I think it would make sense to add a photo, i.E. our european upright DigDug is different to the us version.
Gozer's cab models are spot on, from what I found out. But I would prefer if people would measure their own cabs :)
Yeah, those inch-sizes are annoying as hell. When I only think of those crazy screw sizes.....5/32, 7/32, 9/32....come on ::)
PS: Let's not overdo it by adding weights ;D

i could provide a very small web-database (with search function) on our sever...
that everybody here can provide and read data ? (including adding pictures etc)
-
http://www.opdenkelder.com/Omreken.htm ;)
LOL...thanks Etienne, a simple calculator does the job ;)
Jochen, that's a good idea to start. Could you build a small example?
I would use the following data:
* Name of the Game
* Manufacturer
* Year (optional)
* Width
* Depth
* Height
* photo of the cab (this should be the actual cab where the measuring has been done!)
What do you guys think? Should there be a small version pof the picture visible or just a link to a picture?
I wouldn't add more data so it doesn't get too big.
-
okay, i'll setup a test-base (hopefully tonight) ;)
-
We can steal pics from the web as long as it's the exact same cab version, right?

If you can live with that...why not? ;)
-
frontend of the database ;-)
http://info.arcadehighscores.com/
we should fill the database with life...
-
GREAT GREAT GREAT :spaceace:
I'll measure my stuff this Weekend :)
-
That is a great database!!! Maybe a picture of the Marquee or the cab vould look nice?? :)
-
Oh wow, that's just like us: nice and retro :)
But yes, for reasons I have mentioned above, we really need the possibility to add at least a link to a picture. It is also to prevent people adding a game (in a more or less generic cab) that was built under license and has nothing to do with the original dedicated cab!
And we get access to that list so we can add new games?
Not sure if it does make sense to give the measures in mm......rght now we have all our measures in cm....but ok :)
-

At least it's easier to convert mm to cm than inches to cm :P ;)

yeah, indeed ;)

There is a possibility to add pictures(as many as you want for each game / cab) in the backend, but not yet programmed in the frontend. i will add a picture-column tonight that shows the "main"-pic of the cab - and by clicking you'll see all uploaded pictures for the cab.
question of mine:
should it be possible for anyone to add data or only a few people of this community?
i think it would better for the "quality" if only a few people take care of adding data? (i know that sounds strange but i hope you know what i mean?)
(i also don't wan't bots to add commercial data ;) )
i chose mm to show how exact the measurements are - it is only a name.... can be changed to cm easily...
just tell me wether cm or mm ;)

"Steal" the code from the calculator page i use, integrate that and then you can enter information in whatever format you like ;)

Thanks Etienne, but I think we should ask the people to give the measures in cm or mm. I don't know how many 'inch-people' will help to gather all the information.
@Jochen: yes, I think it would be better if only a few people have the right to add/edit the data.
It's ok with the mm, I will simply add a '0' on my measures ;)

That was not my point, its usefull for people needing the inch size.
we fill it with metric, and the inches are automaticaly displayed.
that way everyone who is looking for info is served ;)
-
That is great work Jochen! Like if there could be pictires!
What about a coloum that says "weight", some times that could be handy when shipping a cab , though, its not easy to weigh you cab...

i thought about that as well...
okay, tonight i decrease the font, add a column pix and weight (kilo) ;-) and i will display the inch-sizes in parenthesis beside the mm.
-
Of course you can add it, but I'm afraid this column will be empty for 99% of the cabs. Even the most Atari manuals I checked show the size, but no weight.
-
Sometimes it's on the flyer.
... but no way I'm weighing my cabs.

Where's the problem?? You use the scale in your bathroom and put it under one corner of the cab. Then you multiply the result by 4 and you have the weight!!
;D ;) :P
-
Yesterday I measured the missing cabs and I did it in mm. I thought it would be too anal but it makes sense and it's not impossible to do :)

Your theory wouldn't work as you would end up with one or two corners also lifting from the ground, you could, however put the scales under one side then the other and add them together. In theory... ;)

I did my homework this weekend.
How should I send you that list? as an excel file?
-
i LOVE :-* those robots in the background, chris!!!
-
 THANKS!
 Shogun Warriors, some of them are still the ones from my childhood which makes them pretty much priceless to me.
-
i've already seen them when i was at your place, but i'd love to see a few more detailed photos if possible ... 8)
-
yes! will send you that this week :spaceace:

Hi Chris.
Yes, if you don't mind, an excel file would be the best :)
-
OK!
My 7 cabs that were at Eurocade this year should come back on Thursday so I'll have some more measurements to add this week.
-
OK, I have entered some cabs with pics.

Please take a look and let me know what you think is good/bad/can be improved :)

A 120 KG Zacc frogger ?? really ? i dont believe that is correct..

I won't enter a weight because I don't have the means to check it.
Jochen entered the Frogger :)

Note that I always measured without the feet (as they are adjustable).
7 more cabs will be added next week:
-Frogger
-Kung-Fu Master
-OutRun
-Boot Hill
-Atari Tournament Table
-Crazy Climber cocktail
-Space Zap cocktail (loops it's already there)
-
I measured my Cabs: Hyper Sports, Bosconian, Ice Cold Beer (if you want), an the Universal Tables with Lady Bug an No Man's Land. Will send the list to Luigi so he can upload the data.

Thanks....have been on vacation last week....in the Netherlands again ;)
Will take care in the next days...

This cabinet size list is great, could the generic cabinets from back in the day be added?
What about all the different styles of Zaccaria cabinets that were used for many games?
How about adding blueprints if available, these cabinets are getting rare, some of us would like to build replicas if possible.
If we don't save this knowledge it will be a loss for future arcade fans.
-
I have no problem with adding generic cabs....but I want a picture for every cab, not only the measures. And I think it would be better to have a different adress for the generic cabs. I wouldn't want to mix them with the originals.
And of course I will add all Zaccaria cabinets with dedicated artwork....I hope on Paul's and Bèla's help on this since thoye guys seem to have the biggest collection of Zaccarias ;)
I don't think that blueprints exist but if they do exist, a better place to share them would be at KLOV or vectorlib etc. :)
-
I am starting to think that the blueprint doesn't exist :(
I searched KLOV for Zaccaria - 0 results, nothing, zero - that's of no use to european cabinet fans.
Any Zac owners that could measure their cabinets so that blueprints could be made would greatly add to the knowledge already on DLF.
I am looking for all measurements for a Zac UR2 - please help me
It makes me sad that this info is not available :(
Let's change that and preserve this info for the future before it is lost forever
Edit - I searched for Vectorlib and looked at the wrong one (.com) not the correct Vectorlib which is http://vectorlib.free.fr/ (http://vectorlib.free.fr/)
