Title: Space Zap
Post by: anunaki on September 17, 2014, 01:00:10 PM
We were talking about the Space Zap WR on Eurocade. I looked it up on TG and the list is:

Rank   Points   Percent   Player   Date Verified   Verification Method
1   244,250   100.00%   Robert Lakeman   2012-06-23   DVD
2   235,000   96.00%   Richard Rogers   1983-01-03   Referee
3   230,000   94.00%   Mike Jones   1983-01-14   Referee
4   214,500   88.00%   Tim W McVey   1983-09-30   Referee
5   174,000   71.00%   Antonio Medina   1982-08-11   Referee

So my 217k score is actually pretty good and I'm confident I'm able to break te WR if I could actually practice the game.

One day maybe.....

hm.... there has to be a save-kit for this amazing game.
i am sure i can get into the top 5... but i find it strange. i would have guessed the top scores are much much higher. usually there are worlds between what i can achive and what was achived by the top players.

I was just checking the EC13 thread, because I knew I mentioned my former high (At the Nozomi Game Center)score on Space Zap over there. I was actually talking about 227k there, but my memory sais 215k ???

I can't seem to find the pic anyware, I know it's written on the high score form at Nozomi

Higher Scores maybe achieves by playing with two people. Remember the guys on Sunday. One was firing with two Hands on the Firebutton like HyperOlympics. The other one chose the direction.
Of Course, this behaviour could be considered 'hard cheating'  ;D

we should somehow make sure that nobody cheats that way. i am afraid it will not be possible. mpf.

I got 144k on the original cab at the New Frontier arcade in Blackburn (UK) and my mate Shaun Holley got 169k

I'm trying to get hold of a cab for myself. Awesome old b&w game!

I was impressed with myself when i got 100k after a few plays, but for 200k+you must have some great reactions.

SpaceZap is a great game :)
