Title: My introduction
Post by: gottaconnect on August 26, 2014, 10:03:00 AM
Hello.

Ive often looked through this site and gained inspiration from the great work you guys do..........
I have slowly been collecting my machines in the hope of one day restoring them to a better condition that they are now.

Just need to find the time and the room.
It is a slow process for me, due to work, starting a family, the daily grind, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

I am so happy for the internet which has opened my eyes to what is possible, from making contacts, getting parts, seeking advice etc.

cheers for reading.

Welcome aboard! :)

Where are you from? And where are your games stored right now?

Oh, and believe me: you won't have more time once the family was started ;)

Ill take some pics, nothing flattering, but they are stashed around the house, much to my wifes dismay.
My daughter loves it when I buy another game because apparently everything I bring home is for her now. She must listen to what I tell my wife.

I started with a generic cab. Then I purchased 2 lowboys (thats what we call them here) and thats where it all started.

My small collection consists of original Tempest, Moon Patrol, Space Invaders part II, Missile Command, Defender, Asteroids, Missile-X, Burgertime, RallyX.
I have a couple of generic Taito cabs, cocktails, Buck Hunter 2, Police Trainer, a standup cocktail (weird) and a couple of pinball machines and a skill tester.

When I can I plan to tidy up the lowboys/generics, and sell them so I can purchase more originals. I think I have been bitten by the bug.
Ive also been obtaining the bits and pieces I need to fix them up along the way, I still have some missing bits Im chasing but thats mostly artwork.

I am about to start building a garage dedicated for setting up all the machines and then this will give me the room to work on them also.
I guess I have slowly been buying them when they become available, knowing what the end plan was.

I'lll take some pics the next couple of days.
