Title: Do you also still discover "new" games ?
Post by: level42 on July 15, 2014, 10:22:49 AM
I've been in this hobby now for about 9 years and it still amazes me that I learn about games I've never heard of before.

Today I saw some pictures from CAX and noticed a Barrier. It's a vectorbeam game:

The side art first made me think of Wizard of Wor.

What's interesting is that the bezel covers up a huge area of the monitor, like what you see on the flyer.

Found two videos but I'm still not quite sure what the aim of the game is.

Would be fun to keep up this thread whenever you guys discover a "new" game that you hadn't heard of before :)

Looks like the headon game, pass the ship (barrier) without hitting one.

I admit, I went 39 years without playing Juno First. It was not a game I experienced in local arcades, home PC etc...nothing.
Played it in a 60-1, fell in love, did some basic research and found out the rest of the world knew, and I didn't....there you know my dark secret.

Don't worry, I had never heard about Juno First until I got into the hobby either....and this while there actually _was_ an Atari 8 bit version, which isn't bad at all...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_RS7ka7edQ
But I never had it in my "collection"....and I never saw it on any other machine around me....nor in any arcade....
