Next please.... ;D

...and another.....first time ever I see a beige one.....all the others I have seen were green except for the set in my SW cockpit which is blue (early set).
This one has some obvious problems: transistors Q14,16,17, diode CR11, fuse F2 missing.
F1 is blown, I can see it, don't have to measure. I really wonder why.....maybe it has something to do with transistor Q2 which has blown itself into half.....and some surrounding parts that wanted to start a BBQ....:)
This is actually one of the more common issues on the Amplifone deflection board I have seen so far. Always on this side of the board. Strangely, this is the Y section, so the one that gets least load of the two axis (shorter distance to move the beam means less energy needed).

One patient is on its way to Ridderkerk, travelling with some C64 and Eyes stuff ;)
-
Awesome ;D

Well that green board was done quickly, just had to check it. Works great. It's from CKONG's cockpit.
The other board has lots of defect parts even on the not-burned side...

The other board means mine? ::)

No, I mean the beige Amplifone board.
Speaking about that.......that akward moment....that terrible moment....that moment that makes you go:

Are you ready ? Here we go:
Added parts because missing from board:
Q14-MPSU56
Q16-2N3716
Q17-2N3792
Replaced because BUST:
Q7-2N3792
Q4-MPSU56
Q5-MPSU07
Q2-2N3904
F1 3A
F2 3A
CR11-1N4148
CR2 -1N4148
C2-0,0047uF
R7-10 Ohms
R3-390 Ohms
R8-..................................fuck....a 1/2W 3,3 Ohms Resistor.......nobody has that in stock !
Just one part to get it test-ready and I have EVERY freaking part on stock, even mica's, thermal pads, bolts, nuts, isolating plastic rings........but I do not have that one, single ($&(&*^#@ resistor........
O well....another trip to the electronics shop....they already know me and ask how my projects go. I love bringing in the boards to show I need that and this part and see them look like "what da hell is that"....even from other customers (if there are any)...
;D
Oh Béla, you did know there was one transistor missing on your board right ?
-
What was left on this board :o
-
Oh Béla, you did know there was one transistor missing on your board right ?
Yeah, I removed it for testing, it was bad and I didn't put it back. 8)
-
Makes sense ;D
-
Hello doctor did you have Any information or mine ? ;D
-
Yep, your set becomes after Ckong's sets and before Belike's 2nd board :)
Im on a roll with them right now :)
-
Finally got the missing resistor in and just tried it.....fuse blew right at start-up....ugh....this is a first !
-
sounds like a dead short somewhere
some transistor ?
-
Yup.
Look at this drawing here......the circled parts were replaced....guess which one was bust....
-
The bad thing is....I thought I'd checked EVERYTHING (hence so many replacements) before so ....did it die just now and why ?
What CAN be is that the transistor was "on the edge" from all the other damage done in that circuit and that it give good measurements but was about to die when it got loaded again. Anyway, let's replace and give it another shot....hope I still have some fuses...
-
Well.....replaced Q1 and the fuse and we have picture !!
There is still an issue with the board though, it has the (in)famous squiggles....
