Title: how to begin whithout the sweet smell of burnt plastic!

hi,

I recently bought my first arcade.
it was shipped from the USA to my place in belgium.
now i was wondering if i could just put in a transformer like this

or am i missing something here. is it really that simple?

I use it for my Donkey Kong and it works like a charm.
