Title: Looking for a 19" medium resolution tube, no burn
Post by: level42 on March 01, 2014, 05:46:54 PM
Hey guys...first of all, I know this very unlikely to find, but miracles have happened here before ;)

This is kind of a double question really, because I would like to find a good condition medium resolution 19" color CRT.

Bare tubes of this kind are very hard to find I'm sure, but I know the US guys get lucky sometimes by finding TVs with the right tube. (I think Zenith TVs, those are US only I'm sure) but also Mitsubishi's IIIRC.

I wonder if there were ever any European TVs equipped with medium resolution tubes and if so, which TVs would that be ?

On the other hand IF someone has a med-res tube available.....please let me know :)

What is the spec of a medium resolution tube?

Nononono, that has nothing to do with it :)

A medium resolution tube has smaller dots on the phosphor layer, that is it, nothing more.

The result is a much sharper picture...

An Amplifone has a medium resolution tube f.i. and a WG6100 has a low-res (or standard) tube...

There is a guy locally who got his hands on a pile of NOS monitors a few months ago. He offered me a dual-res Hantarex Polostar 2 (25", though) for around EUR 400.- last week, still in its box. I know the price is steep, but if you're interested, I can see if he has some smaller models as well. I know that he has quite a few CGA 19"ers.
