So ? Very little to be ashamed of in a country of just 16 million people, without mountains and without snow.......and note we now have 1 medal less than Vancouver .........and plenty more chances for more :):):)

That a country with less than half the number of citizens, eating instant-death-crap like poutine on a regular basis, beats the crap out of Germany in medal collecting?

Make that two countries with unhealthy habits beating the crap out of Germany (overlooked the Swiss stink-cheese raclette eaters collecting 6 gold with 1/10th the people).
And the reunited states of Sweden (Sweden and former Sweden) would have taken the absolute top position with only 14 million people.

I would like to congratulate the German sporters and my great German friends and even Ully with the new olympic medal top score, gut gemacht !!!

btw, i always thought that the medal table is flawed, because for example you can have one more gold medal than the team behind you and still be ahead, even if you have zero silver and brone medals and the team behind you has 10,000 silver and bronze medals. imho, gold medals should be worth 3 points, silver 2 and bronze 1. add all those points together and you have the best of the best, not just by the number of gold medals, but by the total number of medals with a much better rating!

What did the germans won? 4 gold medals in one day? Was it 4 flavours of biathlon or something like that?
I think it would be fair to see gold as 9 points, silver as 3 and bronze as 1 for the total table. Just my 2cts.

You might say the speed skating is kind of a Dutch party at the moment, but why is Norway so high? They must have their own inbred party in some area as well.

congrats, at least we have someone who doped and you don't :P. well, but let's be honest: without your guys who rocked the speed skating you wouldn't be where you are now, but i guess that's what you get when a country is flat and all you can do is run straight ;) enjoy your victory while it lasts, i don't care that much and we'll kick your butts again at the soccer championships. much more important and more interesting than the olympic games. i didn't enjoy sotschi at all, the games were boring and had no atmosphere at all ...

glad that Sochi is over. Strangest olympics for me so far... not because of the sports but because of the feel of it.
