Title: WTB: Switching Power Supplies
Post by: nilfisk on January 03, 2014, 02:29:52 PM
Hi Guys,

I am after a few (2-4) switching power supplies; the standard type with +5/-5/+12V, 120 Watt or more. Maybe some of you have leftovers from gutted or re-converted cabs; i've used up my spares while replacing the crappy linear PS from my Quadro, and would like to avoid having to buy brand new ones at EUR 30.-+ a piece (and using old ATX ps somehow doesn't feel the same).

Scratches and battle marks are not a problem, as long as they're working ;)

Cheers,
Martin

You could even keep the switching button for Bruno's Sheriff  ;)

Thanks, I've seen this auction. However, at EUR 99.- plus 20.- shipping, I am unfortunately quite close to buying some new switchers in Vienna (around 35.-/piece, so just EUR 20.- difference in total). I've sent them an email with a price suggestion, let's see how this turns out. Of course, I'd be more than happy to hand over the lever to Bruno ;)

Update: offer not accepted, and also reluctant to accept Paypal (which, when buying off Ebay, would be some sort of protection, given the seller's sometimes mediocre reputation in the past). Sorry, but I guess I'll keep looking for an alternative. Thanks for the hints though!

If possible, try to source out some used switching from the 90's: i bought a couple of new wei-ya switching from arcadeshop in the past and one died in flames at the first switch-on

THESE ARE TOTAL TRASH

Word. Everything from this company is cheap built trash. The Weiya chassis and monitors are a joke.
