United Coders are seeking an individual with in-depth hardcore knowledge of laserdisc technology. This is a contract position allowing you to work remotely, and will be compensated on an hourly rate or a fixed retainer fee.
The ideal candidate recognizes the following skills :
Deep understanding of laserdisc technology
Hands-on experience with a wide variety of laserdisc players
Ability to extract laserdisc games and movies on a bit-level to the PC & Mac
Ability to insert, remove and modify key-frames within video content
Excellent understanding of, and experience with, video and audio codec's
Excellent understanding of video and audio compression in general
Attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team
A passion for laserdisc transcoding
Organizational and self-motivating
Excellent English written and oral communication skills required
BONUS: If you own laserdisc media that are not affected by laserdisc rot
BONUS: If you own a collection of laserdisc players
BONUS: If you have worked on game consoles
