Making astro wars restoration I had to find a MTC 90 because it's the only way for a correct philological reconstruction...
I found one but with a 12'' monitor (poor MONZA GP...) but - obviously - the neck board is different. Do you have any information about MTC 900 neck board compatibility? With a first look I could see they have the same cables with the same colours but different connectors... What do you think?

The MTC9000 is mechanically and electrically interchangeable with older modal with respect to input signal, input power, deflection connections and fixing points. It have the features of very sharp and colorful display which is more brighter than other monitors.

Thank you Martin but first of all i want to try a philologic restoration. Thank you anyway for your info

I could find another neck board and I checked tube type into the manual.
In order to understand the tube compatibility between a MTC 90 and a MTC 900 I compater the MUTER adapter needed
MTC 90 -> 813
MTC 900 -> 815
if you check the adapters schematics into the manual (see andysarcade.de) you can see they are completely different, so TUBES are not compatible at all.
So I have these choice:
1) try to understand if it's possible to biuld a neck board "ad hoc" for MTC90 with MTC900 tubes. Then the question is: what about deflection yoke?
2) vernimark, use a MTC900 and not bother us anymore with your philology
probably I'll chose "2"

Option 1 is interesting, option 2 is the way to go i guess ;D
I dont agree by the last part of option 2 though , i dont see it as you bothering us ;)

I don't know what Philology means ?
Is it all knowledge about Philips ?
Is it an Italian band ?
Or is it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philology ;D
No worry I think you just mean a 100% historic correct restoration. Personally I'm not that hung up on original monitors. I see it as a replacable part that could wear out, like the light bulbs in your coin doors. If you look at it that way, it's much easier to put in another/newer one :) As long as they are CRT's of course.

Use the MTC 900, the 90 model is a nightmare ;)
-
I agree that the MTC90 is the Original, but the majority of the Zacc's use MTC900 so i dont see that really as a sin ;)

it's a pity I have 2 working MTC90 without tubes...

You could look out for old Seleco TVs. It's an italien brand and they mostly used Videocolor tubes. Don't know for sure bout the older models, but there were MTC 9000, 9110 and Polo tubes (with identical arcade deflection yokes) in these TVs.

Probably a MTC900 is the best solution untill a MTC90 will cross my path :)
-
so... an MTC90 CTR crossed my path last Sunday :)
Astro Wars now has its original configuration :lol: :lol: :lol:

Congratiolations ;D

Pics please. ;D

Yeah, we want to see the terrible convergence ;D :D ;D

If you change an MTC-90 for an MTC-900 I think you'll need to find a transformer to go with it. The MTC-90 uses a different AC supply.
But since you've found an MTC-90, that's cool too :)
