Title: Super Invaders - help me id this cab, please!
Post by: nilfisk on January 12, 2013, 08:29:15 AM
Hi,

Can anyone help me identify this cab? It's advertised on a local online platform, but for a very high price. I do like the bezel artwork, tho, so I wonder who's the manufacturer.

Thanks for your help!

Martin

Thanks. I apologize for being that lazy  ;D

There seems to be a manufacturer logo on the bottom right of the control panel, if somebody recognizes that.

Hi,

Yes, I found these two as well, but no pictures. Theres also a cab by JEUTEL called "Super Invaders", which has the very same form factor (same coin door, same shape, same speaker grill), but different artwork (see arcadeflyers.com).

My first hunch was a Super Breakout conversion because of the shape of the sides and the owl-eye coin door.

However, the shape of the side is different, the front panels are more inward and the coindoor is more to the left and a speaker next to it.....

Still.....this is the first time I see an owl-eye coin door on a non-Atari cabinet........weird !

As mentioned, it seems to be this JEUTEL cab (also called "Super Invaders"), but with different artwork and from a different manufacturer - probably a bootleg of a bootleg:

You're right with the coin door, the Atari ones from that era look the same. My PONG DOUBLES has it as well.
