Hi everyone,
I was just viewing some youtube video's and it looks quite easy.
has anyone here done such a thing ?
all it takes is Soda natriumcarbonate (washing soda) and a battery charger as far as i can folow it..
would it do the same as the chemical deruster products we have seen here on various restauration posts ?

Very interesting..... looks like it gives GREAT results!

Whoa! Very interesting, could have used this technique on some of my recent projects :D!
I think the tricky part though would be to get the nuts/bolts off with the built up rust/crust on the tail end of the bolts to be submerged in the solution (e.g. if they were attached to wood panels). However, if you made a bigger tank in theory you could dunk larger parts (like that entire PCB cage) in there...very interesting!

Indeed, a bigger tank could hold bigger parts like car doors or fenders ;D
this guy build a 400 gallon tank which is around 1500 Liters :o

dont know, it looks like all other derust producs, and thus chemical.
i was so impressed about the soda technique that its just soda and water and thus very enviromental friendly i guess
