Title: Crazy Kong, Knock out pcb issues
Post by: Belike on October 30, 2012, 09:23:37 PM
Following Barry's pcb testing, I gave the Crazy Kong a try
The game boots up, sounds ok, it is 100% playable, but the screen is totally dissorted

I made a jamma adapter for Knock Out (please note, that the pinout is not the same as Triple Punch, I sucked 2 hours before I realized this fact!!!)
It shows only this

Chips reseated in both cases, but nothing has changed. :-\
Any ideas where to start?

A "remote controlled" repair would be the best option. ;D

I would start with CK:

check the ROMS against the Mame Roms! and burn some new if there are Errors.
and check the RAMS. looks like an RAM Error. (just change them against other RAM Chips.

Bad sockets ? It looks like ROM problems.
