Post by: level42 on September 14, 2012, 11:22:59 PM
Something in my memory is telling me someone here was selling a Sega Rally sit-down (single player).....but I can't seem to find it...

...does anyone know/remember ?

Thanks but I'm looking for a singLe unit...can't house a big one...

Ully: possibly...:)..... Racing games seem to be my Achilles heel in this hobby for me...I've owned two uprights which were both fun games (Double Axle and Power Drift) but racing while standing simply doesn't feel right to me.

Now of course I got the Hard Drvin' which is sweet, but it's not working completely yet and the reality is that it is close to impossible for me to work on it because I need totally dry weather to role it out of the gameroom.
And since autumn is coming.....

So I might sell the HD and get a fully working racer instead. I totally regret not getting the Daytona which was working and "around the corner" posted here a few weeks ago. Another good alternative for me would be a Crazy Taxi upright with the seat. The seller had one of those too but that has also been sold already.....

I might even prefer a Crazy Taxi because it is a good size for my gameroom while still offering seated play and you can run various racing games on it...

There's a sega rally twin located 5 minutes from my house (poolcentrum gooiland), and the game isn't that special... definitely nowhere close to daytona imo... Maybe you should drop by sometimes so we can play it..

I would love to see you getting a crazy taxi, a candy (like) cab in your game room, who would image that!!  ;D ;D ;)

Crazy Taxi is super cool game, if I were you, I would rather go for that. ;)

And you will also be able to play 18 wheeler and lots of other dreamcast titles with some minor modifications.

Yeah, miracles could happen. :)

But unfortunately it will not be allowed to be at an eurocade event, not classic enough and japanese candy style. LOL

Great, one cab less to move :D

By the way, this is NO Candy cab, it is out of metal (mostly) not cheap plastic, it doesn't have gay colored buttons and joysticks and it's an upright machine.... :P :P :P

It also doesn't play games where the screen is 95% full of enemy bullets and where you can -still- survive somehow....

Still I think candy cabs have their place in history and I can see others like them, even though they have no artwork at all and look boringly gray...(disclaimer inserted to keep my LL marquee ;););))

I have always said I love Crazy Taxi ever since I played it on the DC. Not all new games are bad. I really like Let's go Jungle f.i. .....Yesterday I have been looking for my original Unreal CDs .......I have a strong urge to play Unreal again, and I don't mean Tournament (which I like too) or any of the follow ups, but the first Unreal.
The atmosphere in it is simply brilliant with (then) groundbreaking graphics...I mean, this game is a classic now too.

BUT I still have to first sell the HD. It will be with a lot of pain, we spent quite a bit of work on it but I have to face the reality that I can simply not work on a game like this in my gameroom.
