I´m so glad that I actually can determine myself that all the effort of doing this in my gameroom
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f307/ckong65/Gameroom%20built/P1000372.jpg
meaning the insulation on the walls and ceiling, was more than worthwhile. :D
I mean, at the moment the gameroom is by far the coldest place on my territory. In fact, it is deliciously cool! ;D My wife and I are thinking about moving over to the gameroom today.
Why? Because it is going to be damn hot today. I just read that there is a very good chance that the previous highest temperature record in Holland, 38.6 degrees Celcius, measured on 26th August 1944 in a town nearby our place, will be beaten. Is that good news? I don´t think so, I don´like these temperatures at all, I prefer a temperature of 24 degrees Celcius, when a human being is still capable of thinkking and doing things.
I hate all those weathermen or radio jockeys who say that it is going to be a beautiful day!! What is beautiful about +30? Tell me? Mankind isn´t built for these insane temperatures.
So, what is your experience with this kind of nature torture?
-
And no, the fact that there will be plenty of space available again soon in the old people´s homes isn´t good news, is it?

We had 29 yesterday, borrowed my dads boat, throw in the anchor, and just enjoyed the day at sea!

30°C at the moment in South Belgium! We went to a flea market this morning with Sun, under the sun! ;D
This afternoon, we'll go to an other flea market that include an old cars exhibition.
For us too, the game rooms are 'deliciously cool'. I second Ckong : good insulation is the key! 8)

+ 100 !!!
I hate these temperatures !!!
Here (north Italy near Milan) is from June that there are +30 degrees every single day
Today ... 36° for the next few days we expect 38-40°
Thank god for air conditioners ... and for winter :)
-
Temperature at the moment: 35 degrees Celcius, in the shadow.
-
About 30 degrees here in South east England and i have spent the day at work climbing in and out of trucks and containers that have been sat in the sun for days...
the office has no air conditioning and the windows dont open so even when i have finished doing the physical stuff i have nowhere to cool down - am hating every minute of it, cant wait for it to cool down!
-
Oh man, I really am sorry for you. I know how terrible it is when you are literally overheating and have no place to go for a cooling. :'(
Just think of the cold shower that you no doubt will take once you are home again. And then the Icecold beer.
HEAVEN

14 degrees and rain here. I must say that I envy you. :D
-
+38°C here :spaceace:!
edit : east France near Colmar.

I seriously never experienced temperatures like this in our little country by the sea.....seams like all the summer that we missed so far was "saved up" for this weekend !!
....and isn't it fabulous to have a brother who has a boat and asks you to come along yesterday !!! What a day !! It felt like being in southern parts of Europe....swimming in the Hollands Diep, riding a tube being pulled behind the boat.....Yes it was great !

Today we went to a swimming pool in the area. I had to take down our own swimming pool because I had to move our furniture into a tent in the garden for a few nights because our wooden floor was being restored after 16 years of use....
I got pretty much fed up with the sun soon enough....
There is one thing I do hope: that we will have a LOT lower temps 2 weeks from now !!!!
-
i spend my weekend yesterday in the pool, and today we went for a few hours to a lake site, so plenty of opportunity to cool down.
I dont complain, this is just a few days of warm weather, and then we can start complaining again about the autumn and the winter.
Dot get me wrong, i preffer also 25 degrees instead of 35, but we always complain about rain, and bad weather, and now we have sun, we are complaining again because its too hot..
I know i know, the difference is too extreme between the two, but hey, welcome to holland ! ;D
I am now sitting in the garden, and soon will sit down in the pool again just for a few minutes to cool down, and then let myself dry again ;D
For the comming week i am not worried, i am nice in the office with the airconditioner on 24 degrees, thats warm enough :P
-
Yeah, thank God, or whomever, for Air conditioners, truely a great invention. ;D
Fortunatley it is now ´cooling´ down rapidly, maximim today in my backyard was 36, it´s now down to 34. :D
-
35 atm right here!
(Barry, don't laugh ::)) :arrow:

Well that is one of the benefits of a relatively new house, it is very well isolated. Temp. in my living room was 26 degrees, that's pretty awesome with an outside of 38... and NO cooling devices running....
I just stepped outside for a moment (we kept everything shut during the day to keep the heat out) and there were a couple of big raindrops falling.....felt good and I was greatly anticipating the clouds opening up fully but as quick as they came, the soon they were gone.....

By the way, long term expectations have a very comfortable 22 degr., partly cloudy forecast for September 1 !

yeah, I must say that we are doing a pretty good job organizing Eurocade, on all aspects! :D

:!: the topic says same thing?! as the beginning of the song "ten - the stranger"
southwest france, here was about 40°c :P

Today it was the most horrible day of the week. 21 degrees this morning with 95%RLV was impossible to cycle to work, and sleeping was more like floating last night. Last Sunday, cycling in the morning was much more comfortable. It was a much dryer day.
