i MIGHT be able to get a couple of these, perhaps we could even do a group buy if it were to fit. so where are you, monitor experts? 8)

This is a VGA monitor (31kHz) ... so, no, this wont work. What we need is 15kHz, like in TVs.

Cant you somehow double the signal and make it work?

 You can use a converter.

The result will be good, but it won't be exactly the same than display a native 15kHz signal.
I'm using that converter to play my APB on a VGA monitor (I don't have the original 24kHz monitor for that cab), and it looks really nice.

You can find them on ebay, right here (http://www.ebay.com/itm/RGB-CGA-EGA-YUV-to-VGA-ARCADE-HD-VIDEO-CONVERTER-BOARD-/120660289356?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c17e9e74c).

It will be fine if you want to mame a cabinet, dont care about the original resolutions and things like that, and like an easy setup with PC  ;)

I bet its plug and play with windows  ;D

If you combine the converter with this, you will get close to the real thing:

...as was demonstrated at Eurocade 2011 :)
