Title: Hi :)
Post by: JiggyMF on March 11, 2012, 08:28:51 PM
Since i recently registered and posted some messages i completely forgot any decency in introducing myself.

My name is Arno, 32 years old, happily married, no 'real' kids but i tend to treat my dog as my kid :)
I live in the Netherlands in the Breda area.

I have been collecting arcade and/or console stuff on and off the past 20-25 years, lately focussing solely on arcade machines and recently also some specific pinball machines.
I'm not really in this game for the money, profit, or any stuff like that, I just like to help and be helped, and collect all the useless shit i want. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose, though i tend to spend so much money on restoring stuff and getting it perfect to my tastes that i mostly loose ^^

I am not really into the 'older' (pre 90's) games, though i really love them and any chance i have to play them i definately take it, but a bit from the 90's onwards. Reason for this mostly is that if i get everything that i even remotely like then i would have 200 machines, and i have quite some room, but that's not going to fit, so i try to get what i really, really want.
I have a little arcade shed, where i had quite alot of machines but i cut it down a bit and i now have 7 arcade machines. Most of them are in mint or new condition, and most are bought in not to best condition and restored to former glory by myself, which for me is at least half the fun of this hobby.
I have a Sega New Net City, a Sega Blast City, a Sega New Astro City, a Sega Naomi upright House of the Dead 3 cabinet, Crazy Taxi upright, a Scud Race and a Daytona USA cabinet.
Also truckwagons of hardware for in the cabinets, motherboards, games, also alot of Sega Model x hardware to swap into the racing cabinets once and a while (Sega rally 1/2, daytona usa 2 etc) to get the most fun out of a cabinet.
This is the arcade part of my shed , waiting for the summer to complete the walls/floor/ceiling with something nice.

I cut down a bit in favor of some pinballs, of which i now happily own 2, Street Fighter 2 from Gottlieb (was restored for me by someone else), and a Data East Star Wars (first time i spent time restoring a pinball). I'm looking to expand my pinball collection a bit, but I am quite specific about pinballs i like (in general, if everyone thinks it sucks, i like it), i'm not to actively on the lookout for Batman, Batman Forever, Independence Day, Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park, and other interesting SEGA or Data East spacy/movie/superhero themed pinballs.
These are my pinballs current position in the shed (not sure where i exactly want them yet), and my wife pinballing :p :

So, that's about it ^^

Arno
