After a long time having two separate cabinets for audio stuff and video stuff, we bought a new cabinet for it. The coming of a new (yes yes, LED) TV was the final "drop" to get some new stuff.
Specially made to my specs (sizes and area for devices and drawers).
The material is "steigerhout" which kind of translates to "boardwalk-wood" which has been "whitened". It's a pretty rough kind of planks which gives it a robust look.
We also bought a new diner table in the same kind of wood. (The table was the last large piece of furniture we still had from day 1...
We also changed over all the furniture (for those who have been at my place).
Not sure yet, speakers with, or without covers ? (I am pro without, better sound, and looks impressive ;))

For best sound you leaf the covers away ;).
But watch out there isnt shining sun on your speakers.
Nice setup.
And nice av cabinet, somtimes it can be hard to find a good cabinet so your amp fits in.
I bought some nice kef front speakers few months ago ,and they look badass to with covers of ;D
And also a nice 51 inch tv
im totaly adicted if it goes about arcade games and home cinema systems ;D

Nice tv-meubel! :)
I'm a bit curious how you play your records though, my pickup is on TOP of my tv cabinet, much easier ;D

Thanks !
Whats the problem with the sun on the speakers ? They have already been in those spots for many years before. The sunlight is only indirect and very weak this time of year. We never have direct sunllight in that area of the house though.
The devices, left to right:
Lowest is a Marantz CD67 Special Edition. still beats anything digital Ive connected to the Amp so far and thus strictly analogue connection from player to Amp. (The D/A stages are excellent in that player).
Middle is a run of the mill Pioneer DVD player. Playing SACD as well, but still sounding inferior to the Marantz amazingly !
On the top the cable TV box, Cisco.
Then the center speaker of course.
Then the sony str-940. Its a ptty nice amp, but like anything else Ive owned from sony before it BROKE right after the warranty. i had to replace a Nichicon cap because one of the rears failed. Mind you, there is an expensive series Nichicons ithis amp !
I may replace this one with something that handle HDMI etc. in the future.
To the full right my Technics SL-1410, the home version of the famous SL-1210. It has a very nice Empire cartridge which Has the sound of a moving coil but can be connected to a usual moving magnet input.
Id like to upgrade that one to a Project player in the future.
Last but definitly not last, my beloved 6-series Bowers & Wilkins speakers. IMHO the best speakers that an average Joe like me can afford and a great investment I made at least 10 years ago. I dont see me switch to something else soon, these things just shine in every way possible...
What you dont see to the right is the Judge Dredd pinball machine which will soon leave.
Taking its place though will be a very very nice box to store 80 of the 7"es that I have been givin ( :spaceace: :spaceace:) by Etienne !!! More about that box soon !!!

You are absolutely right sir and I fully agree !!!
However, as you know, life is full of compromises and this is one of them. You know how most (not all !!) women think about this....
I am already lucky that my wife has no problems with the full size speakers (the rears are smaller though, but still on stands). Most women I know are always crying that these large speakers are ugly and they want them out of the house. So in come the Bose (or even worse) miniature speakers for fronts center and rears and somewhere hidden ( if theyre lucky) a hidden sub somewhere.
Regretfully these set ups can never make serious music.
Anyway, maybe she will agree that the look of the Project is so much nicer (and tighter) that it will be OK to put it on top.
Also, its still quite possible to play records this way, there is a lath on the top front of the opening, so there is actually some more room above the player than it looks like :)

There is a foam layer around the speaker,if direct sun is shining on it they get old pretty fast
til they crumble to pieces.
it stil takes a few good years, but in the end they get bad.

Looks good. I really prefer flatscreen TVs mounted on the wall though.

Looks really cool, a framed pic from your Star Wars cockpit would be nice on it next to your son tho. ;D ;D ;D
