Yes I know, this forum has the average number of Apple fans as well as Apple haters.
And for a European, the word "Magic" is something you don't really trust in a product name. And I agree that the price was a bit of a bump for me to take, but buying it in New Hampshire sure helped a bit...
But after having used the Magic Trackpad for a week now, I can only say BYE-BYE to computer mice....

What a joy to use it ! It works so precise and fast. The multi-finger commands are GREAT.
Zooming, browsing, right-clicking (two fingers), even turning your pictures to the right orientation becomes something natural.
Again, you have to invest a bit to learn to use it, but you gain so much in return. I definitely don't have any pain in my hand anymore even after long computer sessions.
I highly recommend it to the Apple users here !

Pretty cool device! Still don't know if i should consider getting a mac powerbook. My girlfriend has a desktop and it all looks and works great, but the high price for what (hardware) you actually get puts me a bit off.

Price is a usual issue people bring up. What you should consider:
1) Macs keep their value much longer than PC's. If you're going to sell it in 3 years time, you will still get a decent price for it
But it's not only in re-sale value, but also for yourself. F.I. my Mac Mini from 2006 is still a very well performing little machine because of 2 major OSX upgrades that actually improved it's performance. Try to do that with a PC
2) consider all the time you'll save not having to debug, update virus scanners and scanning for viruses etc.
3) Mac's don't get slower through time. I found that PC's get slower and slower because of adding more and more software etc.
4) Did you see the price of OSX Lion (the newest version) ? 24 Euro's.
Anyway, I've long stopped trying to convince people. Everyone should decide for themselves, but at least give it a try.

Heh....the track-pad is even BETTER when using Lion ;D ;D

Hah...98% still functionaliteit...wonder if a pc collection could match that :)
It's pretty clear which models came from the era without Steve Jobs....
The thing about this.....isn't the fun of collecting the actual collecting instead of buying an almost complete collection. I do miss the early models though, the II, Lisa etc. but it's pretty clear he focussed on Macs.
But I also see a Newton !

This is probably not the right forum for what I need at the moment, but I just ordered a candy cab to play some vertical shooters - so that's my main priority at the moment, and on the top of my wish list.
