Post by: Hi on July 23, 2011, 04:39:50 PM
Back in the past too, this time april 2005 ::)

I had just done a RT in Belgium to recover an Atari Breakout
picture from the seller  ;D

it was supposed to work but I had not tested on site

Unfortunately I could not test it either at home because I had no place to store it , I had to leave for almost 2 years with a friend in a basement.

2 years after and a fist move, i get back the cab and finally can test it but it don't work. the PCB

when I started it the PCB has burnt out.  :'(

after several tries I was unable to repair the PCB

since then I have recovered several PCB but without success. I still have to take care of it of course

Since 2006  the cab is waiting for a good PCB

A few weeks ago I received a new card that was supposed to work at least in attract mode

but not absolutely NOT  nothing on the screen ..

today I decide to work on it  ;D
First, finding a good place to do that

I have 7 PCB's, try all of them, some are modified like this one.

cleaned the contacts and I made some small welds - the good one (only  for 30 minutes)  is oxidized

Or change it with a PC + MAME....   No it's a Joke...... (not so good, I admit...)

This cabinet is a piece of videogame industry, the game made by Mister Jobs...

Looking at the board, it looks like the same technique as pong, which mean no mame...

If you still believe that you definitely need to read this:
http://classicgaming.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Articles.Detail&id=395

Mr. Jobs was (and still is) a master in business....not so much in technology.....as usual the technical guys end up with the least money.....

Also, the MAME rule is very simple: No processor, not in MAME. I'm sure Atarimania knew this, that's why he mentioned a (not so) good joke...
