Not sure if I posted this earlier, but I've got a Galaxian to JAMMA adapter on offer. Only used once or twice for testing some stuff.
Let me know if you're interested.
-
Is it for Midway pcb?
-
But of course ! :)
-
"Sold" ;)
-
And it arrived today, thanks my Friend. ;)

Most welcome, enjoy !!!
Ooops I see I forgot something !!!
There needs to be a jumper on those (bend from shipping !) pins Bela.
Put it on the right side for an Upright (UR). CT means Cocktail but I'm sure you don't need that ?

Not exactly understood, where is that jumper goes to?
-
See the three pins on the right of your pic ?
There is CT and UR (and 1) next to it.
Bend up the pins (carefully !) and make them as straight as possible.
Now you can use a jumper (like the jumpers that are often used on computer motherboards) like these:
You always have one side of the jumper in the center. The other side will go to either CT (cocktail) or UR (upright).
A jumper is simply a connecting piece. It's like a "permanent" switch.
If you don't have one, you can solder the two pins together if you know you will use it only in an Upright...
-
not ment to bash your comment andre, but just a tip:
you can try to put the jumper on without bending them back to avoid breaking the pins first..
not the most elegant way, but it could prevent the pins from breaking ;)
-
Yup, as long as they make good contact...
-
Ok, I got it right. ;D
Thanks to both of you. ;)

And, did you fixed it ? (http://www.fredsforum.nl/forum/images/smilies/bananaWrench.gif)

That will happen on this weekend. ;)

I found one of these jumpers in an old pc pcb ;D

looks like it makes contact, so i think youre good to go ! :spaceace:

Yeah, but I'm still not sure, if it's also work with a Namco Galaxian pcb. ???
I really don't want to burn it.
-
O wow, this is definitly meant for a Midway Galaxian board !
I don't know about the Namco boards if they have different pin-out. Are there any schematics of the Namco board around ?
I would carefully bend up those two pins using that jumper, not sure if it's "on" far enough...(you could measure to check).

I also have a non-worker Midway under repair, so I will have a good use of this. ;)
The Namco pinout looks similar, but I'm not sure about those AC/DC voltages

Sorry for digging this old thread, guys.
I'd like to replace the monitor in my Galaxian with a decent TV and I'd like to test it with the PCB before I start the process.
How do these adapters work? I mean, is there anything with the voltages? Galaxian needs 7VAC and 12 plus and minus?
Mike'sarcade has them and there's one for sale in Sweden at the moment. But before I buy one of these I'd like to get some info about it...if there is more necessary to run a Midway Galaxian PCB :)
Thanks
-
I'm pretty sure that our old german friend bencao74 is able to build an adapter for you in addition. Drop him an e-mail.
-
I don't think it's that easy because of the necessary voltages in AC!!
-
You wanna run the pcb in a jamma cabinet, or do you wanna make a test harness? Or just a test cable to run between your cabinet and the tv scart?

At first I'd like to test the PCB with the TV I'm planning to use. So a simple test harness would do the job: voltages, video (RGB/Sync)
Second stage would be running the TV inside the Galaxian cab with a Scart-cable :)
-
My Galaxian used to have a TV inside. No need for an adaptor for that, just cut off the monitor plug and wire them to a SCART connector.
I had some small sync issues with the TV I used though.
A long time ago a great guy started a great thread about hooking up a SCART TV to arcade hardware right here:

My dc converted Galaxian pcbs don't work with the official adapter in a jamma cab.
