Hi at all !
Last weekend someone found it's way into my house and the way into my gameroom !
All Arcade Machines open and from two of them the internals were stolen.
From my Ideal-Cab the XBox with Mame installed is gone, the gounlet legacy is killed, the 60in1 is stolen, the terminator is killed and so on. Also the starblade will not work anymore. So I need to fix everything and try to "restore" the rest. I am really pissed off. So please have a look if someone will sell parts of those machines.
Thank you
Regards
Sorry about my english, but i'm still upset..

:o :o :o
Thieves will burn in hell!!!
-
Really sorry to read that 2-mad :'(
I will definitely keep my eyes open if ever I see anything suspect for sale on the web.
Do you think the bastards knew there were games in your basement and broke in there for that specific reason?
Anyway, that totally sucks... pfffffff...
-
One of my fears.
Luckily my gameroom is fully alarmed. I have also marked my stuff in a way only I know about so that I can ID everything. Also: make pics of everything, incl. serial nrs. That is good to prove it's your stuff later.
However, I always thought the general thieve would not be interested in those heavy ancient beasts....I bet they thought they could find money in the cabs....
The _scene_ is small enough when it comes to true arcade parts but XBOX and 60in1 are pretty "standard" stuff. Also hardly worth stealing it seems....
Damn, all that damage sucks (sorry, is not my cup of tea ;D)
-
... too late. I have only pics of the cabs, but not of the internals. My fault.
Next time I know better.
I think about to give up this Hobby... That was a hit in my face...
I will think about it AFTER the Eurocade 2011.... I will install my "spare" 60in1 in my universal Cab and I will visit the Eurocade...

Sorry didn't want to sound like "you should have..."
It's just that I've worked in burglar alarms (a long time ago) that I have one here and also that I know these things about pics and serials...they are not only valid for your arcade games...
Sleep it over a bit. Great that you're still planning to come to Eurocade !!

oh - my - freaking - god!!! that totally sucks, didi, i'm really sorry for you. the first thing i though when i read the title was that your ceiling collapsed somehow and smashed the cabs - which would have been even worse. but someone breaking into your house and stealing stuff from the cabs is almost as bad.
did they only take stuff from the cabs or also other things from the cellar?
like andré said, i never thought someone would be interested in the old stuff, but obviously there are people out there who are. i must be more careful with my collection and its whereabouts - one lesson i have learned from this.
hopefully you took this to the police and they are going to catch whoever stole your stuff! good luck with the rebuild, don't give up on this wonderful hobby :spaceace:
-
No!
I never thought someone would be interested in the old stuff, but obviously there are people out there who are.
Same!
I can't believe that!!!! I always thought that thieves would vandalized rather than steal our 'old stuff >:(
-
Damn! that sucks didi,
ofcourse we keep an eye out for suspicious stuff on the auction sites, but like andre says, a xbox and a 60in1 is pretty "common" stuff.. :-\
thiefs.. always -1 !
-
@Superully :..yes they took some other stuff with them, but this can‘t be listed here.
Such a procedure is as was, it must have been an insider who knew his way around in my basement
The Arcade-Stuff which is stolen is only an "alibi" ... The Guy who did this wants other things, and he thought that these things can be found inside the Cabs.

No no no! absolutely horror! truly sorry to hear!!! :-[ :-[ :-[
I hope they find the idiot!!

Hi,
I'm sorry for reading that. We had some thieves in our flat a year ago and they also broke the coinbox of a cabinet. I think those people were drug addicts and were only interested in money. They made a mess but nothing except the Nintendo DS of my flat mate was stolen. They even did not take a laptop from my other flat mate.. really weird.
I hate those guys. It's a weird feeling of discomfort, when you enter your rooms and someone unknown has been there and you don't know what he did there. I can totally understand that you're upset.
I wish you good luck with finding these guys and also in fixing your cabs. Just take some sleep and think about it, then you will see, that stopping this hobby is not an option :D
-
Sorry to hear about this!
A few rules everyone should follow....
Don't allow friends to bring a friend who will bring a friend etc... to you game room. You don't know who these people are!
Cover you new goodies (from arcade machines to Xbox's) in a sheet when moving them in, no need to adverise!
Locks, Security Systems are a must, Don't secure your gameroom with a cheap lockset, You get what you pay for!
Use 4'' or longer screws in your door frame and door hardware, Those cheapo 1/4'' screws in the lockset can easily be kicked out!
Do get insurance, I know it won't replace everything, but if the worst happens, It's better than nothing at all.
-
.. ok .. here is an update ..
After several months of reading wiring diagrams and soldering many meters of cables and so on and so on
After spending a lot of money (I had no insurance for my Gameroom)
HERE IS THE RESULT : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3RfLMscBzQ
Small, but mine ! .. and everything works .. some fine-tune but the time will do the rest ..

Rise phoenix rise!
Yayyy, that's a very nice sight, congrats!
I knew you would never quit and that in a true Billy Mitchell's style you would Never Surrender ;)
-
Great to see that you pushed through the crises, and came out in the end with a nice working result! (and less money on the pocket) true arcade spirit!!! :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
Your game room looks packed, nice video! Which games is in there???
-
well done, didi, what an effort! enjoy your games - again.
-
Well done bringing those games back to life!
Just one question: what is that LCARS screen next to the Starblade? It looks like a tv/monitor displaying some screensaver-ish thing, or is it something else?
(I'm a big Trekkie myself but I tend to just watch the series and movies, I don't know much about what else is out there)
-
Great to see you got thing running again, i spot a bomb jack, is that a dedicated cab? If so, do you got more pics?
-
I can't believe that!!!! I always thought that thieves would vandalized rather than steal our 'old stuff >:(
If you steal an XBOX???? How sick is that. That's just junky-behaviour. Like someone who stole my 40€ car radio when I accidentally left my car open. Fast 20$ for an old XBOX. Not worth all the mess! Go steal a MacBook next time!
-
Hi again !
@Muerto : At this moment you can find a Bomb-Jack, a Gauntlet-Legends, a 60in1 uni-cab, a Silverball, a Starblade and a Terminator 2 ...
@Superully : Thanks a lot .. I fell better with working cabs and a cleaned Gameroom .. now it's mine again ..
@McVenco : Thats my old 42" Plasma out of my Living room .. I connected my iPad with the "Lcars PADD" App .. a small Star-Trek wiki with Lcars-Style .. full usable .. and looks VERY IMPORTANT at the wall nearby the Starblade !! I love that "on the Bridge" feeling :-)
@gyruss : Sorry, no .. it's a TV-Ideal with original Bomb-Jack PCB but not a dedicated one .. only the Marquee ..
@Blanka : Yep .. they have stolen my old damnfuckbloody XBox ... ok, modificated, with XBox-Mame and lot of roms but still an old XBox .. I don't really know what the deeper sense is, but who cares .. my games are working again ..
Regards .. Didi
...Still 20 Days ... to Eurocade
