Title: A little joke - but so real life

Here is a little joke that my wife got today from a work-colleague. It's in German, sorry about that.


Ein Mann kommt ziemlich spät von der Arbeit nach Haus  als ihm plötzlich einfällt, dass seine Tochter Geburtstag hat.

Also stürmt er schnell noch in ein Spielzeuggeschäft, schaut sich kurz um und sagt zur Verkäuferin:

"Ich hätte gerne eine Barbie-Puppe."

 Die Verkäuferin fragt, welche es denn sein soll:

"Wir haben 'Barbie geht einkaufen' für € 19,95,

'Barbie geht an den Strand' für € 19,95,

'Barbie geht zum Opernball' für € 19,95,

'Barbie fährt in Urlaub' für € 19,95

und 'Barbie ist geschieden' für € 395,00"

"Was soll denn das," fragt der Mann, "alle Barbies kosten

€ 19,95, nur 'Barbie ist geschieden' kostet € 395,00 ?"

"Ja", sagt die Verkäuferin, "bei 'Barbie ist geschieden'

 ist ja auch noch 'Kens Haus', 'Kens Boot',

'Kens Auto' und 'Kens Motorrad' dabei."

Translation:

A father is getting home from work, and it’s already pretty late. Suddenly he remembers that it’s the birthday of his daughter. So he quickly goes into a toyshop, he looks around for a short while and then says to the sales woman:

“I would like to buy a Barbie doll.”

The sales woman asks which one:

“we have ‘Barbie goes shopping’ for €19,95,

‘Barbie goes to the beach’ for €19,95,

‘Barbie goes to the Opera’ for €19,95,

‘Barbie goes on holiday’ for €19,95,

And ‘Barbie is divorced’ for €395,00”

“Why is that”, the father says, “All barbies are €19,95, but ‘Barbie is divorced’ is €395,00?”

“Yes, of course”, the sales woman says, “with ‘Barbie is divorced’ also comes ‘Ken’s House’, ‘Ken’s Boat’, ‘Ken’s Car’,  and ‘Ken’s Motorcycle’.
