Wait a minute, the settings are not according to TwinGalaxies ! I start with only 3 ships instead of the 4 allowed.....
Let's correct the DIP switches ! :D
-
bring that machine over and i'll beat your highscore ;)
-
when i return, ill get the score up!
Nice picture btw! :spaceace:
-
Haha, I managed to stay out of the reflection ;)
The interesting thing is that you _can_ see the convergence issue in this picture.
Look at the score letters, these are perfect, but that is because they use only one color (either blue or red).
However the texts above the scores are a light blue, and thus "mixed" of colors. The text "PILOT LIST" is pretty OK, but the higher text is clearly out of convergence. I expect some simple metal strips will fix that easily though.
OH, and about Twingalaxies settings, they are WRONG ! They say 4 ships is default AND the official Twingalaxies setting but the backdoor sheet indicates THREE ships to be the default setting !!! So, what is it now ? Gonna post on TG forum.....

hehe, almost ;D ;D
can see your hand on the kitchen table.. ;)
-
AND the hand holding the camera ;)
It does show how reflective the glass bezel is. I wonder how a non-glare would work.....
-
very nice score André, but your son is also doing quite well. At least much better then when I played it. :(
-
You have to "feel" it....
I must say that I do understand why this game didn't do well in the arcades. I'm surprised it even got through the usual field tests that Atari did.
This is ONE HARD GAME !
The way I can reach the 30000 score is go to the first "maze" planet where you have to hit something in the middle and then get out before the time runs out. The first times I tried I thought they were crazy and that it would be impossible to get out again in time, but I can do it now on the first level.
You then instantly warp to the next screen of planets. If the first screen wasn't already hard enought, these planets are close to impossible to complete. So (also to get the top hi-score) I tried the maze planet again. I was first a bit surprised and disappointed to see that it was exactly the same maze, but there was a "little" twist AFTER when you shoot the center thing because then guns appear everywhere in the maze, making me to AGAIN think it's impossible to get out alive.....I haven't succeeded so far and it's very frustrating......
But man will I jump in the air if I get it done.... ;)

New hi-score: 47250, today during a "test-play" after re-capping and re-converging the monitor :D

You now reached position 10 on the Twin Galaxies list. congrats. http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=22&pi=2&gi=5043&vi=1259
-
In fact, I'm _better_ because 4 ships is 1 too many on the DIP settings, it should be 3 as default by Atari... ;D
But indeed, pretty cool...to be on the top 10 :D

Gravitar is one of the best games ever made. Too hard for an arcade, but for the home it is perfect.

YEAH BABY YEAH !!!!!
I'm dying to get Erik's 25" Amplifone out of his SW, fix it and give it a try with Gravitar !!!! YUMMMMM (Although playing outside the cab will be hard ;))
-
Enjoy while it lasts. You know that I am a natural, and I will show you my skills tomorrow
By the way, I see a bit of distortion on the '4's' at rank 2,3 and 4. Please fix that. ;) ;D ;D ;)

The really sad thing is that I lost my last life on one of those annoying attacking space ships in a head-to-head. You normally never loose those.... still, not bad ;D
-
great score. By the way, the screen picture 'glows' much more then in the previous picture. Is that because of the higher voltage?

Not sure, it may also be the sunlight coming from the window this time.

Waaahoooo, reverse gravity for the first time !!!!!! I finally beat the third maze planet ! :D
Reverse gravity is _really_ difficult because EVERYTHING you've learned, praciced and mastered is turned upside down now. So instead of falling towards the surface of the planet, you get pushed away ! It's VERY hard indeed.....but so was everything I've completed now......Dan Coogan......you better watch out ! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
yeah baby, go for it.
-
Baby ?

Hey guys,
I thought that maybe some of you guys might be interested in actually looking when I play, so I set up some live streaming video.
It's still an experiment, not sure if it's fast enough to be useful, and there is (deliberately) no sound but it's a first try:

That's interesting, would you mind telling what setup you are using and how the videostream is send to the internet.
By the way, just watching how you 'do' the maze, great skills you have.
Whoeps, that almost went wrong!
come on, dodge the bullets.
Oh, too bad
yes, 31,500 points. mission complete. Get out of there!
Wow, that's a difficult level
39,500, mission complete again. I hope that you don't get distracted from us watching
Oeps, bang into the sidewall. Try again!!
WOW :o :o You made it out, dodging all those bullets. Great show. 56,000 points!!
GAME OVER. But it was a great game, and show. You should have something like a SMS alert, so we know when we should watch. The picture is bright by the way. Sound would be nice, just put a bandaid on your mouth if you don't want us to hear you cursing. ;D
-
hey, sounds there as well. nice to hear your son shouting at the game ;)
-
I see you ... and I can even hear you (well, your kid) ;D
-
OK, sound is on right now, and very good quality. Sometimes there is an echo. Say high to Mark. Oh, you should talk english, otherwise nobody understands what is going on.
And don't leave the mic open at night
This really is nice.

Haha nice comments, like a football game ;)
I've got my mini DV cam (Grundig=Sharp, an oldy from 2000 or so) hooked up via firewire to my Mac Mini and got an account with Ustream.tv and presto...
I downloaded the Flash Live codec and should be able to improve the quality with that but still have to look into how to set that up.
-
The quality was not bad if you as me ;)
-
when can we expect another life show?
