Hello,
I just picked up an original Dragon's Lair machine.
It powers up fine (one speaker is out), but it will not take a credit.
It just plays the intro movie & then just keeping showing every level.
The LD player is not original, but as far as I know the rest all is.
The person I bought it from said he had the previous owner set it up so you don't have to put quarters in.
The score board reads "2 credits" at start up & that stays on.
Is there some sort of hard reset I could do?
Anyone have any clues to what the problem is? :'(
Thanks in advance!

Looks like it's on free-play so inserting any credits doesn't make any sense. How about pressing the start button ? ;D

Lol...
No button seems to work.

It looks like the board and the laser disc player don't communicate together anymore :?
I think that is the reason why the LD player shows you all the sequence, it justs play the disc like a movie...
That what happen if my LD Player is not connected at the main board.

Know of any fixes?
Thanks for the help.

Check the wiring harness between the LD player and the main board, as Bruno suggested.
Please post pics of the internals of the game, I suspect your machine uses a newer Sony player and a Hi-Tech conversion card.
Good luck,

How did this end?
Probably discovered to have a mame inside the cab ! ;D
No, jokes apart, I think he would have called a technician (paid for it) and would have fixed it
