Technical Area / Memory map help wanted
« on: February 11, 2018, 07:29:37 AM »
Hi Guys,

I decided to get to know the Fluke 9010 a bit better so I took an unknow board with a z80 and started cleaning it and working out the pinout. It turned out to be a Naughty Boy. The game is working now so  I hooked up the Fluke and started in learn mode.

I was hoping to get a nice memory map but it did not give me that.

I got:

- 4 areas of ram
- No io mapping
- Rom areas that constantly change, only the first and the last area are always the same and test good. The other rom areas located by the Fluke fail the Fluke rom test. There are 8 eprom present so I would expect at least 8 rom memory areas but so far the learn mode only comes up with 6 or 7.

1  - So is this expected behavior for the Fluke?
2 - How should I go forward finding out what the real memory map is?

Any suggestions?

Arcade Lifestyle / my biggest project yet.... a gameroom
« on: June 05, 2013, 11:27:54 PM »
Finally after years of preparation it is time. Game room Time  ;D

I started this project a long time ago by checking out on the internet what people are doing regarding game rooms. I saw lot's of cabs, pins, pool tables, black light, bar neons, glow in the dark carpet, memorabilia. The more game rooms I saw the more I was thinking that's cool I need that too, that's cool I need that too. Soon I realized that it would never fit.......... No matter how big the room it would be cramped.

So time for a new approach...... Let's see except for fellow collectors who would I have around.... other friends? Yes, Family?... Yes.  Hmm, what about a limiting  :o the number of games? Good idea, I can still swap games between storage a game room  What else do I need... not much really.

Time for some support from a pro. So a friend of mine, who is not a gamer nor a collector, but he is a designer, came to the rescue. Although not into classic arcades he did love the Tron movie. So inspired by that we game to a design. Would love to get some input from you guys.

All the rest / Werkman Automaten
« on: April 21, 2013, 12:07:15 PM »
I just found out that Gerrit Werkman from Werkman Automaten, a Dutch arcade dealer pasted away last week. I think his business will not be continued. This reminds me of the fact that warehouses and wharehouse finds will become rare with fever and fever people in the business who used to run an explotation business
