Post by: Muerto on January 07, 2010, 04:48:25 PM
Received the FF yesterday, and got it home today! and it´s in pretty good condition!
Now i hope Oliver will dig out the original PCB, sell and ship it  :D

As you can see, Ully did a great job wrapping this up!

Even styrofoam under the cardboard! - excellent!

Above the Marquee bezel, there was some stickers, soon they will be gone!

The Bezel marquee is hardened glass and there´s no scratches!

The game atm is Time Pilot, bau as you can see, the aux board is present  :spaceace:

The left side, some scratches, but a cleanup, and it´s good again

So for the right side, some scratches...

Atari used a scheme to prevent people (competitors) from guessing the number of produced machines with the serial nrs.

At least the conversion was done in a neat way. I've seen _much_ worse !

What makes you think I've got a pic of the original Flyboy cab (if there ever was any) ?

By conversion I meant that it was neatly converted to Time Pilot :D

Got some time today, so i cleaned up the FF...

The sides was a bit dirty (nicotine!!) and i tried several things to get it of without any luck, but found something
in my kitchen that really helped.
- And it´s not helping that the surface is not smooth, but have a structure where the nicotine/dirt kan really hide!!!

Before...

Under... yuck!

After... wow!

The same goes for the CP:

After...!

So, thanks to this wonderful cleaning agent!

Good job... I'm really in love with the side art  :-*

In order to remove the last 'yellow' area, you can use acetone (like I did for cleaning my xevious (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=63.msg1252#msg1252)), but pay attention!... use only acetone to clean the dirty area on the white vinyl! Do no try acetone on the art itself, or you'll erase it  ::)

...and a last thing : even on the white area to clean, don't put too much acetone, and don't push to hard, or you'll remove also the white color of the vinyl... as usual which such things, try on a small area first ;)
