Title: Zaccaria Kangaroo - completed
Post by: Digimon on January 03, 2016, 10:16:32 PM
Hi Guys,

I love the XMas Holidays, there is time to complete some work.

This year I used the time to clean and repair my Zaccaria Kangaroo.

This is the result. Just the CPO has to get a complete clean, but I will do it when my scanner is back. The marquee will be scanned also.

It was not so much work, because I used a lot of spare parts of my shelves. And usualy I don't repaint these Zaccaria Cabs.

Another nice cab - can you determine who it's by, whether it's NSM, Lowen, SeeBurg or AVG?
I've had a CPO from one of these but it's very bootleg-like - corners not rounded for example. Yours looks like it's factory quality - is that right?
Paul.

Hi Paul it's NSM / Loewen.

The marquee is factory made glass, like zaxxon and jumpbug.

The CPO has no rounded egdes but its quality printed. Seems to be original.
There where not so much kangaroos around to make a Bootleg.

The PCB is a sun with NSM Roms

Good!

...always happy to see a Zacc complete!

..in Italy it's quite difficult to find this mini-cab version (flat marquee)..
.. but for this version it's more easy to find many rare game (like kangaroo) than regular Up Right (curved marquee).

...can you tell something about the cocktail... it's your "cleaning tools" support?  ;)

Kangaroo is more famous from Atari but it was originally created by Sun Electronics. I never knew Zaccaria licensed it too, nice !!

I never really played the arcade version much but I never liked the A8 port. One of the rare poor arcade conversions on the platform.

yeah;-) It's my workbench, because I have nothing else in that room. ;D

It's an Zaccaria Universal 19".

Btw that workbench picture is good.
Guys, do you know where I can get that silver metal clamb on the corner for the table?

One of the 4 is missing on my Tank Batallion.

If it has NSM specific ROMS in it then it'd be good to check if it's been dumped and if not dump it :)
Thanks,
Paul.

Very nice, great job!
Kangaroo was the 2nd arcade game I ever played and have great memories with it. :D
My father bought me an Atari 2600 with a Kangaroo tape, just to keep me away from the arcades. ;D
As AndrĂ© said, the Atrai conversion was really poor, so I went back to the Arcade in a  a few days. ;D
I also have a SUN pcb, looks like a simple game, but it is huge fun and quite challenging from stage 2.

It's the NSM / LOEWEN edition. I will dump them soon.

BTW your sig says you are looking for a Zaxxon CPO - this has already been scanned in:

yes, I know. I've got an CPO with a little damage from Anunaki, too.

but an original in good condition is what I really want. I am not a big repro fan 8)
