By the way, IMHO this is one of the few exceptions where woodgrain looks GOOD and IN PLACE on a cab !   ;D ;D

agreed (again ;))! and you should see that golden fiberglass bezel shining in real life when properly illuminated - it just looks awesome. what i like about that pong clone is that the cabinet is so different  from other cabinets - both in design and size, to me it's almost a piece of art. i didn't like it that much at the beginning, but it's grown close to my heart :-*. oh, and by the way, rally will be 40 (in words: FORTY) years old in a few months. imagine that!
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Awesome, exactly we are probably a bit "conditioned" by the "standard" uprights we all know and love, and then is just something so different ! Yes the fiberglass is the "finishing touch" on it, that really sets it apart :)

Would be awesome to celebrate it's 40 birthday in september ;) ;) ;)

I love these before after pictures  :) love the machine too. I think it is a great sample of a "early" game. A true collecters item. Well done.

Hi Ully,

nice to see it all put together - a showpiece.
My only wish would be to add 2 or 3 pictures from the interior :)

Best Regards,
Andreas

unfortunately, i forgot to take any pictures when the tv was still out and removing the bezel and getting the television out now it simply too much work. the only picture i have of the interior right now is this one

note that i've installed an on / off switch (cut off in the back on the left) at the bottom of the cab which was not there originally, but i wanted to be able to turn the game on and off without having to pull / put in the plug every single time!
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

and here's what the cabinet looks now: nice, clean AND fully working!!!

Great work. I'm glad you finished it, but I noticed, I can't see the paddles in any of the pictures, was the game in 'attract' mode?

Amazing job by Speleo on the PCB,  since it has no processor these are tough babies to fix for sure !

I also love the sight of the cabinet against the reddish background, it makes the cabinet stand out even better  :spaceace:

I completely forgot this topic....

Great work!!

I've to find a way to remake my RALLY Control Panel in the same way but I was thinking about a transparent printed overlay over the metal plate
