Okay guys, like last year, another attempt to "collect" a nice playlist for this year's edition.
I'll start..
Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW3gKKiTvjs)
Feel free to dump your requests here !

this may sounds strange and offensive (so please don't get me wrong), but did anyone really listen to the music being played last year? honestly, i can't remember if there even WAS music ... :P
-
No there wasn't at least not in the gameroom due to a technical problem...it's on our rather short list of things to improve this year :)
If things work out I may simply bring my Seeburg. Have to say 80 singles is a rather small selection for a long day like that....
I do like to hear 80s music at the games though, loved to hear great music at Funspot and at some other arcade meetings I visited.
Pointer Sisters - I'm so excited, got that one on 7" for the Seeburg :)
Some other nice one's I recently added (the very singles I bought new as a kid):
- Musical Youth - Pass the Dutchie
- Sugarhill gang -Rapper's Delight
- June Lodge - Someone loves you honey
- Jimmy Cliff - Reggae night
- Tom Brown - Funkin' for Jamaica
-
Music is always nice, and i too have music in my gameroom...
Though, last year there was no music but only the games songs/noises, and it was actually nice to ba able to have a conversation in the gameroom, without shouting..
Not to offend anyone, i vote for no music in the gameroom... - but i was at a pleasant level (42) in the bar area.
-
There is a comfy level for Gameroom music...not too loud, not too low...
-
- June Lodge - Someone loves you honey
Love it !
(rest of your list also by the way, especially Tom Brown - Funkin' for Jamaica..)

And i agree on Muerto, its nice to have it at the bar section with the clips on the beamer.
We can ofcourse "extend" a speaker cable to the other room.. ;D
If you guys like it, i can download the youtube clips of all the music posted here to make a playlist..
Oh and before i forget it :
Chaka Khan - Aint Nobody (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U_hRJHc3eA&feature=related)
-
- June Lodge - Someone loves you honey
Yeah I know it's sappy....but that laid back beat is just brilliant... ;D
I remember this on Dutch TV:

Don't think that guy is Prince Mohammed though but whatever :)
Funkin' for Jamaica still holds up great today IMHO.
And here's another vote from me:
The Crusaders & Randy Crawford - Street Life

Little Steven - Bitter Fruit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qny7yFbZZS0)

Well, I think it won't be a good idea to play my favorite music, 'cause I think I will be the only one left in the arcade that day

Just found that one on the tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5YJlYFnyA0&feature=related
WTF??? The coreographer of that one must haven been sooo high on whatever ... the taylor of that costumes too. I mean not that I didn't even know the band and the two songs. I think I had the wrong friends at that time. Bad influence ;) but don't worry I will not contribute to the playlist. Eurocade 2012 will be punk rock free. Just spamming around here. Sorry for OT!

Before i forget it again 8)
Laura Branigan - Self Control (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IyAGpooGko)

-Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News
-Built this City by Starship
-Satisfied by Richard Marx

-Satisfied by Richard Marx
Great song !
I know 100% for sure that Andre can put that 7" in his seeburg ;)
-
Yup I think I saw it somewhere in the stack ;)
I had a great "80's" moment last weekend. During the festival we went to with the drum band, there is always a party on the sunday evening where all bands from across Europe meet. This time there was a "verein" from Austria and they also had a little "combo" with trombone, upright bass, harmonica (the one you pull), trumpet and....one instrument I forgot. They "dwell" around the party hall while playing...
When they kicked off they started with ........Funky Town !! It was hilarious to hear that song in such a setting, incl. the players in lederhosen etc. ! :space ace:
-
Oh man, another one I haven't heard for AGES:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK9hK82r-AM&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I still wonder why the rope jumping thing is called double DUTCH ? Did we invent it ?
We call it "Touwtje springen" badly translates to "Rope jumping"
-
I presume you have the 'Pacman Fever' album as well, no retro arcade could be complete without it!
-
I don't sadly...
Well not the real thing...you know, vinyl...
Quite Incidently my favorite radio station Nostalgie is doing "10 day of 80s" right during Eurocade...they even have a Pac Man sound in the ads on the radio....guess we simply have to tune into the station to have the perfect music ;);)

For late 70's, I would love to see one or two songs by the Sex Pistols, Clash, and maybe Stiff Little Fingers included.
-
If you have some youtube links for me then it will be in the playlist of videoclips
i use the youtubedownloader and have all music present with official clips 8)
