Like Rémi... here is my WIP of a Taito Space Invaders Part 2
« on: December 14, 2011, 11:04:04 AM »
Hi Guys. I'm new here... trying to find my feet. I recently purchased a cracking wee Space Invaders cabinet to restore back to it's former glory.

Anyway, here are some of the pics so far:

Missing coin door and a door bell to work as a "free play" button. Genius!  ???

My plan's do do something over Christmas, but I've no heater in my workshop... that won't stop me... maybe stop the paint from drying.

I just got my boards back today. I was having the sounds fixed. There's a Blaze multigame on the board to allow me to play 8 games from the hardware... Balloon Bomber, Lunar rescue, Space Invaders 1 & 2, etc.  ;D

Hi Ully,

Yes it is, but the graphic is screen printed on. I was considering making a new bezel and then placing a new graphic behind. I'm interested in chatting to your friend though.

I can, but not today  ;D

no seriously, i can do it, but i dont know exactly when, i have still some jobs ahead of me, but if you are not in a hurry, i can make it.

Is it one piece of plexi like the galaxian i did for Bela ?

https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=2109.0

I did not do the plexi for him, but i have an adress to lasercut the plexi if needed.

For the plexi you could also contact "bencao74" at this forum, i know he has contacts too, and maybe is cheaper than the company i use.
Or maybe you can do like Bela, take care of the plexi locally.

Hi Etienne,

The graphics are exactly how you did them. I've actually got the vectored artwork and can also get the combined bezel / control panel cut to size here. Ideally I would like the sticky side of the graphic to be on the grpahic itself. Do you think I could have your contract do that for me? Any ideas on cost?

Sure, can you send me the vector file, and i can ask a quote for you at my printer

What they do is that they print it in mirror on the non sticky side of transparent vinyl

after that they stick white vinyl on top op the printed side, resulting in a sticky side with the correct artwork and the back is white as protection.

so basicly the ink is sandwiched between white and transparent vinyl.
