OK, back on this!
I got that game as 'not working'! It's time to plug in and see what happens
...as expected, nothing! No monitor activity, no marquee light, no sound... nothing!
I love these symptoms... it could be a simple power supply problem, fuse or even a simple security switch disconnected... Let's open the cabinet
This cabinets looks very clean at first sight... now let's see what behind the
curtain piece of cardboard ...
...the boards look not bad...
Damn! It looks like a pinball here
I can see the incoming 220V, but still no output behind power brick... what the hell?
Christ! There's is also a security switch inside the coin door, and of course because the the coins mechs are missing ... no contact so no voltage!
It's the first time I see a security switch at this level?!
Ok, after 'by-passing it' for my test, I can see 'activity' on boards, here
Got now the marquee on, a 'now powered' monitor displaying a black screen. No sound, no credit sound, no game test mode... nothing!
Let's look closer here... a led supposed to indicated the presence of 12V here
Looks good, and here... I'm supposed to have 5V
Not good! what could be wrong? Let's check the fuses everywhere. They are all fine, but see this support
... and the modifications here?
Well, the problem was the fuse support. 'temporary' fixed for this test...
...and got all the led on! Now I have something 'static' on the screen
...but still no sound, no on screen activity (still the same static picture), test mode without any effect...
So I've checked the voltage incoming directly into the game board, and the values measured are too low / not correct. Looks like a voltage problem at this level.
In addition I'll have to check the harness and understand what was the purpose of the hacked/cut wires...
