Hi guys
If anyone is interested to vectorize this artwork I have a 600 dpi scan.
The file size is 2,48 MB.
I can send to you via e-mail.

WIP,
still need to identify the font used for the "Racing & Rally Team" text. (any help appreciated)
-
It's not a 100% perfect match but DIN schriften comes pretty close:

Hahaha , you beat me, in the afternoon i also "layered" the din font that you send to me over it , and i thought it was damn close

;)
Alternate Gothic works well also.
Difficult to be 100% sure because the print is not super sharp.
The hardest part will be to emulate that misprinted effect imho ;D

Very nice job guys
This is a 600 dpi scan detail.
The SEGA logo, RACING AND RALLY TEAM and border circle with horizontal lines are printed in silver color.
-
I wasn't talking about the quality of your scan but about the way it was originally printed + the uneven material it's printed on.
 That's what makes the letters a bit more grungy on the final result.
Post some pics when your work will be printed ;)
-
Ok, now I understand, thank you!

thanks for the font hints

I won't even try to emulate it.

Sometimes that's what I'm missing when we're vectorising artworks: the final result is too perfect and clean compared to the originals.
But again, I like my cabs with a few bumps and scratches so it's just a matter of taste.

I don't have acces to this font, does somenone with this one can provide me the text "Racing & Rally Team" converted to path. I will tweak and adapt it.

Check your mail zorg ;)

mail checked
now is 55 mm the correct size for the center cap ?
regarding silver printing, I used some grey there is no silver color availble, you will have to check with the local printer if he can print silver or not.
problem won't happens if you go the screening route, as silver inks exists
-
Or print black and red on a silver material... ;)
In that case you need to make the silver part transparent..
Nice job Zorg!

this is yet implemented on the final document ;-)

I know that size does not matter, but I would like to have the correct sizing before releasing the center caps.
-
Very nice job Zorg! Better than the original...
I checked the size of the cap with precision caliper and the correct size is 54mm with 4,5mm center hole for security screw.
This artwork is originally applied on 2mm metal disc with 3 studs for proper alignment.
See the back side.

Stefanocsw : you have a copy of the emblem, not the original one (see mylstar shop (http://www.videogameparts.com/product.sc?productId=173&categoryId=61) for the copy of the original part).
The original emblem is a piece of plastic, with a central hole in order to put the screw.
I already have the reproduction emblem (on my Sega Super Monaco GP cab) and it looks not as good as the original one (on my Power Drift cab) : no transparency, no reflection with different view angles.

Hi Jcp,
Thanks for your reply!
My center cap is original with center hole for security screw ( I have posted photoshop image without hole because this part of the art is scratched by screw )
I have removed this cap about 10/12 years ago from original Sega Super Monaco GP Cab, but is different from your Power Drift one because this cab was made by Sega Europe LTD, not by Sega Enterprises Japan.
At Videogameparts this one is marked as NOS not as reproduction.

The important thing is the final result of vectorization :)

Just realized that I forgot to upload the wheel emblem to vectorlib.
it's available here: http://vectorlib.free.fr/SegaRacing.
pdf is editable in illustrator, file is made so even screenprinting will be available, just screen red then black on silver material
enjoy.
