Little progress again, Sanded everything as smooth as possible..

Went shopping for leg levelers, pre-drilled a bit with a speeddrill 25mm to sink them into the wood.

Then i drilled the centerhole with 10mm to fit them inside..

some gentle hammering and they are in place  ;D

After my little helper inserted the carriage bolts its now standing on his feet  :P

While i was at the DIY store, i found some "iron on glue tape", i think it will be a perfect substitude for T moulding..  ::)

Now i need to create a "roof" and a backdoor.
And then i think its time to fit the TV inside and create those supports..
And finaly after that i can start with sidearts and bezel lamination  8)

Took a look at the TV, it turned out that the 5 cm that i added to the depth of the cabinet was not enough if i want to tilt the monitor like the original like Andre already told me here ..

Just noticed that the original has the TV tilted backwards which would make things even worse in your case since the TV would need even more space......

So i decided to take the cover off after all  ;D

Who said that only giraffes have long neck's ?  :D

Looks like i can just make a frame and tilt it afterall  :-*

Space enough i think..

The chassis can go in one of the sides next to the tube and on the other side the pong PCB..

Too bad i have other obligations this night, i am in the mood to continue

Ah well, there are more days untill Eurocade to finish it, and like always its better not to rush and take a bit extra time  ;)

Nice weather this night, so...

Yep, time for some wood, clamps, guide and some measuring ;D

Lets prepare the next piece of scrap wood to create a backdoor and monitor support..

This time the little helper is using some protection for his ears

After some sawing the panels are ready..

I dont know what it is with children, but they seem to have fun by climbing inside tiny places  :D

Check for yourself to see he is having fun in his own way ..

After some fun (for my little helper so to speak) it was time to glue the bottom part in place, and ofcourse you have guessed it by now..

Indeed !, Drying time....

Another day more guys..

Visited the local Ikea today for breakfast, and on the way out i passed the "leftover corner"
After some searching i found this plank that had the same thickness as the rest, its black laminated, and it was cheap
This will make the perfect topcover that i still need..

Nice weather today, so i started with the last sanding portion..

Then i sawed the fresh plank to the measurements that i need..

Then i measured my leftover and it was enough to build the backdoor and the monitor support from..  ::)
So i decided to ditch the door and support that i made last time.
Backdoor in place..  fits like a glove  :D

"Roof" in place..  :P

And from another angle..

Last leftover cut to size, ready to cut a monitor hole in there

Same procedure as the window in the cabinet, first 4 holes..

And then saw the inner part out..  8)

It fits, but there is a bit too much space around, so i only use the normal screws in the bottom..

for the top, i cannot screw in the tiny bit that i have in that corner..
Time to be creative again.. ::)
Take 2 of those old electric pipe clamps..

Hammer them flat, and spray paint them again..
The can go diagonal over the "topeyes" from the monitor..

Now thats finished, time to put the panel in position and create some supports..

After measuring, i took out the protective foil..
Did i say shiny ?  ;D

Some supports glued in place..

And again Drying time..   >:(

While drying, i finished the edges of the "Roof"
Lets see, "iron on strip"

Oh Wifeyyyyy, i need your Iron  ;D ;D ;D

One side done, time to cut off the leftovers with a special tool..

I need to say that after some practicing, it works really well..

And the roof is finished..  8)

I will leave the protective foil on there untill the end.
Plenty of time when its finished to remove this foil..

I think that i got all the construction work done now,
May be a little detail sanding, but thats it..

Oh and i need to drill still the backdoor lock, but will do that after the monitor is in..
i dont want that i break the neck when i have the lock also in the center..
so will measure the space first and then find out how to make the door lock

...and it looks great. The shiny surface adds a special look and touch (beware of fingerprints  ;)) to your project  :o.
