Love those pictures. And wouldn't it be cool to start a new topic but with European ones?
Ronald Reagan already posted some:

Nice!
If ever somebody has any pictures of the REFLEX in Middelkerke (Belgium) from the 80's, I'd love to see them.
It's where I used to play arcade while on holidays.
I can even remember where my favourite cabs where located in that Luna Park.

The one on the right is the same Italian generic cab I found at the dumpster a while a go.
I found a second one this monday too by the way.

No wonder arcades had a bad reputation in those days, put a coin in the videogame, or put a coin in the peepshow...mmmmm difficult choice :P

No wonder arcades had a bad reputation in those days
Also the clever name choice for arcades never really helped...

Heh.....those 020 players were forced to play that machine, Commodore was their sponsor BITD ;) ...I recognize Johnny Bosman and I think Aad de Mos (coach) is the player on the right side.
-
the other guy playing is Dick Schoenaker, but which club is this Andre?
-
Like I said: 020....I found a posting on a forum by a guy who said all players got a C64 set from their sponsor Commodore. They badly cheaped out if they didn't include a 1541 floppy drive though.....o wait, that was about as fast as that tape-drive anyway..... ;D ;D ;D ;D
I wonder if Commodore being sponsor of 020 was another factor in deciding to buy an Atari 600 XL for me BITD....it could very well be :)
-
Lol, 020.... nobody knows what you guys are talking about...

;D ;D
020 is the prefix you need to use to dial a phone number in our capital city. It is used as a "code" by those who prefer not to pronounce the name of that city ;D ;D ;D
Why this is our capital city is still beyond me, because our government doe not reside there. Every country has it's capital where the government resides. Man, when I grew up Bonn (of all German places) was capital of West-Germany !
Our government resides in The Hague and as such it should be the capital IMHO...
Anyway, it's the term (mostly) Rotterdam people use to refer to Amsterdam and the football team from that city :)
I'm not that much of a die-hard but I still think it's fun to use to tease people :)
Oh, and Rotterdam has 010, which clearly indicated which city was most important to have a phone connection to back when phones started to get around ;)
-
Australia has the same issue, capitol city and government are in different cities
Melbourne and Canberra..
-
Every country has it's capital where the government resides.
Not *every* country ;)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_with_multiple_capitals
But The Hague, and even Utrecht, also have been capitol of the Netherlands. And legally, Amsterdam has only been the capitol since 1983 :)
