Thought it might be something that you put in the wood from the front side and stay in the wood.(which would be nice, else you will always have to remove the panel with loose nuts on the other side).

I was thinking about these:


Alternatively, normal sunk-head screws that simply go in the wood should work too....but I'm not sure that I can get those all very straight and nice flat into the grills.

And are you guys using metric stuff in Australia (I bet not) ?

By the way, I do assume you give the grills a new spray of paint ?  ;D
Australia is metric..  thank god.. :wink:

Once the cabs complete, I plan on respraying all the metal brackets, screws, and grilles to make them look minty fresh.

As for the Nyloc nuts - your photo is exactly what I am using..  The button head bolts have a very similar look to the original pop rivets,but obviously removable if need be.  I only used Nylocs cause we had them at work, so the price was right :D
