Guys, this weekend is going to be a great weekend for me and for André. We are going to do some really serious driving, we will see beautiful country sides, go to bars, we will also meet nice new friends and hopefully we are back in time for work next week. ;D
Some of you may know what the goal is without speaking it out, but I can also say that there may be a few nice surprises. I suggest that you all watch out for a great road trip report with great pics.

Erik's next to me right now so at least the first part of his trip has gone smoothly. It's raining now here and it's one of those rare times that I am actually happy that it's raining ! :D

The van is picked up and in front of my home now. We watched Chasing Ghosts (as Erik hadn't seen it yet, and I decided to actually buy the DVD. 3rd time I saw it now and it's just a great movie in every way.
Of course we played some good games of Berzerk. I first showed Erik how to play. When I was around the 6000 points he said that it seemed like the difficulty didn't increase very quickly on this game.
That was until he tried it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Played a bit on the Galaxian as well, and Erik beat me at Moon Cresta so he's got a nice recorded high score in there now :)
Won't be long until we call it a night as tomorrow at 4.30 the alarm clocks will go....yikes !

Well, Erik just left from my home, he still has about 1.45 hrs. to drive home....
I'm pretty tired but not beat up. It was a brilliant weekend in every aspect !!! It was _GREAT_ meeting some people we only knew through "the keyboard" in person. We had a fabulous night out thanks to Alpha1 + company. Olli, again thanks very much for your warm hospitality !!!
Now, I will leave the honor to Erik because after all it was his road-trip in which I merely assisted.
I was a bit surprised we actually accomplished ALL our goals in this road-trip, but more about that later !

Yes, we did, didn't we André?
We got the cabs that we wanted.
We met very nice people and beautiful girls.
We got to know what English hospitality means.
We had a party.
We had some delicious cocktails and great food.
We didn't have a hangover.
We made a lot of photo's and films. Not all are suitable for publication.
So yes, it was a great weekend. More about it in the road trip report later this week.

Ruth is one of those rare girls that do not start to be completely arrogant because of their good looks. She was great fun to talk with and (forgive me, I forgot his name) her boyfriend is one lucky fellow :D
I LOVED that Paradise Punch by the way. Full of healthy fruit, vitamins etc.

I'll kick off.
Saturday morning 5.30. Erik stayed at our home for the night because I live about 2 hours closer to Calais then Erik.
Of course, we played some games the night before !!!

Here's what would become our "home" for 2 days. An Iveco Daily with a nice 2.3 Turbo Diesel engine. It drove GREAT to be honest.

Turned out Erik and I share about the same driving style. The minus points of the van:
-no handle to climb aboard
-no FREAKING CUPHOLDERS !!! I mean, a work-horse car like this needs CUPHOLDERS !!!
But it drove like a dream. Engine was really powerful and (amazing for a van) there were no rattles, screaches or any other sounds...impressive !
