Title: Atari Tank Project
Post by: Segasurvivor on November 09, 2015, 11:55:34 PM
Hi all,

I am posting this on several forums!

Someone really generous [Alpha1] gave me an Atari Tank project machine

I am aiming to restore it, no idea on time frame [might be long term] but here are a few shots below

Update now is I have already been offered a marquee which I am massively grateful for.

So I now need:

Marquee retainers [although could make some]
marquee surround and instructions
advice on the right substitute 24" CRT

Any advice or comments is gratefully received

Keep an eye out for updates!

Good luck with the resto...it's a great game!! :)

1. no suprise at the screen burn with this game

2. cleared the old rubber matting as it was shot, so will then fill the dinks and glue some new matting on

3. cleaned up the CP notice the historic repair

4. more than 36000 plays

5. remove pcbs

6. the components on the other side are clearly suspect

7. notice the left board, there are 2 black components [just below the top left hand corner massive capacitor, are they resistors or diodes?!] that are causing the scorching:

8. original marquee secured as below, but I need the bezel surround with instructions

That's the problem when one doesn't use quotes  ::)

Of course you want to restore your Tank cab...I referred to kos71

I was assuming he will part the cab so I jumped in.

I need the joystick plastic covers but would buy the whole controlpanel (for spares) so the seller doesn't have to disassemble the whole thing to separate them :)
