In Dutch the series of books are called "Leven van een looser", the original US version is called "Life of a wimpy kid".

The story:

Theo and I felt it would be cool to have an arcade at the Christmas market. We didn't have money for real game machines so we brought up some cardboard boxes from the basement to make our own.

We started with Pacman because we felt that was pretty easy to make. With Pacman you play a small munchin guy who eats dots while he is being chased by ghosts.

In our version Theo would be inside the box to move around the ghosts that we had glued to pencils. Pacman was on an ice-cream stick and the one playing the game controlled him from the outside.

It took us two hours to make the box look just like a real arcade game.

But while we were working Theo started to ask questions about how long he would have to stay inside the box and what would happen if he had to go to the bathroom. I gave him an empty soda bottle and said that he had to keep it with him if he had to pee.

Then Theo asked what to do if it was a "bigger" job he had to do at the bathroom, but I said we would see when that would happen.

When we had colored the entire machine we started to cut out the sleuths where the sticks would be put through.

But we hadn't given it enough thought, because when we cut out the outer edge, the entire maze fell into the machine.

Well....if people don't want to pay 25 cents to see Theo sit inside a box, that Pacman won't be generating a lot of money.
