Scroll down !

Right in my own f-ing country and I NEVER new about it ! It's in the city of Venlo, very close to the German border (actually, there are always more Germans than Dutch people there ;) ) and also not too far from Belgium.

A pretty decent arcade IMHO, actually they call it Sega Gameworld ! :D

Check it out: www.taurusworld.nl (click on Taurus Games World to see the R360 in action ! :D)

(Please Bruno, please, promise you won't drive up there and buy the R360.....please ;) ;) ;) !

if the R360 doesn't disassemble into small parts, you could just get out of the car and roll it all the way back home if you live at the bottom of a hill.  ;D

Good thing:

Galaxian 3 = Namco
R360 = Sega

So, no way you will mix up parts......although it might be interesting :D

I played the R360 yesterday. The machine is in so bad condition it really hurt my eyes (and ears). The motion is not as quick as it used to be and the motors are very loud. The whole thing shreeks and cracks while it is turning around. The game lacks sound, lights are out, lots of damage and dirt. The rails show unbelievable signs of wear and tear.

I wanted to save the machine and asked them if it was for sale.

NO WAY in hell they where gonna sell it.

Okay very wel, maybe it can use some maintenance? I offered my services. It was fine as it is.

"It works, doesn't it?" they replied. A real shame fur such a great machine.

I'm very happy my post is giving some results,

Soon or later we'll approach one of this simulators, (I'm also looking in Italy though some friends of mine in the business to find one in good conditions)

When at least two of us will have it, the hack process to After burner and Mame will go smoother

I made a video of it. When it is ready I'll post it. I'm not giving up on those guys in convincing them to sell it. Starting from that day I will not rest untill I have one of these in my possesion! Not to put it in my personal gameroom but as the centerpiece for the public arcade I recently opened. Such a great machine is not meant to keep for yourself, it should be shared with everyone! Under the eagle eye of the caring attendant. And yes, I have the room to put it even in height! :wink:

It seems the ceiling is missing? They did a nice job swapping the old tube with a lcd monitor. Probably the pulsing degauss coil was a fault with the old monitor.

The joystick BADLY needs new pots, and maybe put on a new cover. looks really ugly like this.

Hello Arcadia, and welcome here  :-*

Thanks for your pictures.

I'm also in touch with the owner. He owns this R360 since five years, and he don't plan to sell his 'baby'. He seems to be a real fan of this game too. He's not doing a lot of money with it, but it doesn't matter. I can understand why he want to keep it  8) ...even If I would like to buy it too  ::) :P

I plan to go there in few weeks. Maybe a good opportunity to organize a meeting over there ?  :P :D

Well to give some comfort, someone in the US is doing a full restoration on a 360:

I just learned that a R360 was sold to an Estonian Aviation Museum in april 2009.

Read about it here:

So now it's a bit "closer"......... ::)

Well, this one is 100% restored and doesn't have an LCD like the one in Venlo.... :D
We still have to keep bugging that guy until he gets crazy from us and he sells it ;)

I wonder why they used a 40' container ? That would have easily fit in a 20'
Nice crate, I bet the originals came in something very similar, seeing that it about fits perfectly in the container.

Is it common practice to screw stuff to the container floor ?

So, did you guys manage to get the R360 here in Venlo? Because I just spoke to the guy at Taurusworld about another machine and he told me they sold a R360 lately.

Was just wondering...

 ???

Hi Nuno, thanks for the welcome!  :wink:  I'm also at gameroom.be under the nick "D_V" and posted the pictures there of Taurusworld in Venlo. (the pics level42 refers to in the OP of this thread)

I live in Venlo and contacted Wouter of Taurusworld about an F-Zero AX. He told me in his mail they sold "an R360" not that long ago. (as far as I know they only had one)
Shouldn't be too hard to find out who bought it I suppose...
