Ok guys, this project need a new topic ..... :spaceace:
In these days I'm doing some testing .... here my best result with a CRT 21" Vga monitor and Misfitmame (my idea was to use AAE emulator: http://pages.suddenlink.net/aae/ but not support the vertical viewing yet  :? ) and I'm very pleased, I remind you that I've never seen a Tempest machine here in Italy  so....
I've already made a ps2 mouse hack for the spinner, and works very well :-* :-*:

Well, if you live close to Milan, there's a guy who owns a working Tempest machine. You can find him in the Yahoo Group ITVAC, where some of the italian collectors/Mame enthusiasts are.

The result looks really clean.
Two questions :
- Have you enabled the "use antialias vectors" in mame ?
- Do you use the maximum resolution your monitor support ? (1600x1200, right ?)

Goodluck with the building !

Yeah, good luck and have fun with the built of this beautiful replica. The last few days I read your other projects and they are very stimulating. Probably will do one also someday.

As narrator says: "your quest awaits"!
First finish the Tempest and then let me know

Hey there! Been lurking on this website for months now, but seeing this Tempest build I just HAVE to make a post!
This is awesome, and very inspiring! I have a nice collection of original cabs myself - including a Tempest - and I love seeing restorations of classics. I have a Defender here needing MAJOR restoration. Maybe one day I'll post the story on here!
Anyway back to the Tempest build! As I said this is one awesome project, and is looking superb already! Your skills are outstanding! I just can't wait for the end result! If I could help you in any way for details, I'd be more than happy, but it seems to me you've got it all covered.
Tempest is one of the most beautiful cabs without a doubt, a fantastic design.
I've followed your previous builds and have been totally impressed! The Galaga is one I may do myself - I have a Pacman cab so I could get measurements from that! ;)
Total props (and then some) to you Scr33n!
Cheers
Jase

It's amazing how fast you build these cabs from scratch. :o And with such precision for all the details. 8)
-
what amazes me even more is the fact that you're doing this in your LIVING-room. when i use the router to cut the t-molding, there's tons of saw dust flying around. i would never do that in a place like that ...
but as always: :spaceace: you're a genius when in comes to replicas!
-
Does your wife think you're a crazy geek ?
She must be nice, cause building a cab in a living romm is not really WAF compatible.

Yes this is a problem, but I use large sheets of cellophane, and after the work I clean the whole room (double work :o :-\ :P)

I can say 2-3 :? :-[
that's great. you have to choose your future projects very carefully. how about pole position or the sprint series? i don't see a racing game in your room. or q*bert - that would be something spectacular ...
-
i would say Burger Time!
or, a trackball game... Centipede/Crystal Castles/Marble Madness...
or... a Dragons Lair!
-
yeah, a laserdisk game arcade cabinet!
-
i would say Burger Time!
or, a trackball game... Centipede
or... a Dargons Lair!
Yep .... my next choice:
1.Burgertime
2.Centipede
3.Dragon's lair
Problems ... this time will be very difficult to find all the pieces  :?

thats what you said with all the projects :D and still you pulled it off !
Goodluck with the search for parts !, already you proved that you are the Legend of Scratch Build's 8)

1.Burgertime
2.Centipede
3.Dragon's lair

The above 2 games is not hard to find pieces to, i have bought a complete DL CP and marquee, and have
seen on ebay.us (some time ago) that a guy was selling everything except the cab.
Centipede... hmm, have´nt seen a cp for this one, but have never searched...
-
First of all, another fine replica !! Congrats on another beautiful job !
It should be possible to find a Centipede, they're not that rare even here in Europe.
A BT is much rarer and special shape, I would go with BT.
O and DL....well......who wants DL....... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great job, scr33n! Another job well done.

Hi all (sorry Bruno ! Your site & forum are still WONDERFUL ... but the time I got to dedicate to hobbyes/amusement is VERY LOW in those crisis time...) !
scr33n !!!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME job !
Your cabinets are really extraordinary !
And we all see your high-level woodworking skills... then I could tell you that a Dragon's Lair REPRO cab is much easier than these cabs you already built !
( if I was able to do it then I think that EVERYONE could ! ) http://picasaweb.google.com/macdlsa/MacSArcade#

YESS... when I heard of a DL repro cab I raised my ears, as a good old dog should do...

LOL, you are working in kitchen and livingroom like me ;D
Good job

:-* :-* :spaceace:
I'm motivated, I think to start serious work already next week :spaceace: :spaceace: :o
Sir, could you tell me what circa are the different radiuses of the side-panels are.
That would be very nice :)

i would say Burger Time!
or, a trackball game... Centipede
or... a Dargons Lair!
Yep .... my next choice:
1.Burgertime
2.Centipede
3.Dragon's lair
Problems ... this time will be very difficult to find all the pieces  :?
EXCELLENT job as usual! :spaceace:
I have a US Centipede for sale, PM me if you're interested.
It is in OK shape but displays garbage on screen (haven't really checked it in details yet).

I alos build replicas, I have a little help though since I am a 3D-Designer and the data does right import to any CNC-device which I also have.
I am also not far from you, I am from Vienna/Austria, I would be more than happy to help you to scratch custruct cabinets.
Also we can trade some plans, I have a complete step by step 3D-model of a Karate Champ.
A firend and me just started a business with it (the homepage is´nt online yet but in the next weeks), we want to satisfy the european market for original dedicated replicas. If you can help with measurements I maybe can arrange to get you some CNC-work for free.
I try to upload some pictures but the programming of that board sucks, I opened a new thread about it:
