Aren't those simply PC's in there ? I've seen a windows screen with an error message on several ATM's (it always gave me the creeps AND a chuckle that it had crashed, why run a real-time application on such an unstable platform ?
Also there's a clear cut in the movie between walking up to the machine in the hall and inserting the card.
